Before last night, Tess' humor was more "positive". She'd be saying how sexy she was, how everyone loved her, her "voluptuosness", etc. And she'd have those little flirtatious poses at the right time to help her comedy along.
Last night, she did just the opposite: Self-deprecating humor about her size. She conjured images (in my mind, at least) of fat girls in a dark and sleazy strip joint, cheerlessly working lap dances in front of fat old men in wilted business suits. Then she expanded on that dark scene. It was all downhill from there...
