I think lots of the posters here have formed an opinion of whom whey like the best and that is who they tout as funniest. I tried to put all that aside and watch the routines with a willingness to laugh at whoever made me laugh. That happened to be Rich Voss. As a huge Dave fan, I went into the finals with a huge "prove it" chip on my shoulder. Your points about the motivational speaker side of Ralphie were valid, but he hit the mark on political humor and worked the crowd better than the others. I thought Vos had solid material but, like Dawg said, his presentation seemed off.
I had liked Tess before last night, and I don't think she delivered, so I'm probably harsher on her performance last night than a lot of folks would be since I came into it with high expectations.
Which ones from the series will I go see if they come to my local comedy club, or will I make a point of watching during another TV appearance? Definitely Dave, probably Cory, and Rob Cantrell. Rob wasn't ready to win this competition - he needs more seasoning - but he's got a lot of potential in my mind. I could have also seen a sitcom about Rob teaching kindergarten being quite funny.
