As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."
>But when you said "Osten had >confessionals early in which he >expressed regret for screwing up. >Nobody around to hear him >-- if he was faking, >what would be the point >of lying in the confession???" >I think that was part >of the strategy. I >don't think their confessionals are >ALWAYS out of possible earshot. > They should be, but >what if he was admitting >it in the confessional and >someone observed his body language >or managed to overhear it? > And you know MB >well enough to know he >might somehow "let the information >slip" to another contestant to >skew the game against Osten
Just a couple of observations on why Osten would lie in confessionals. -Osten would be smart to keep the act up in confessionals. We have all seen Jeff use things that he knows in tribal councils in questions trying to get someone to slip up. It is part of the game that Jeff is playing. ie. I have been reading the book MB wrote about the original Survivor (laugh if you like...I don't care) In there it talks about how all of production knew about the Tagi Alliance, and Jeff straight out asked if there was an alliance in tribal council, but Tagi denied it. Jeff looks at the videos and talks to camera and sound men...I would venture to say that he has a pretty good handle on everything that goes on and uses it to his/the shows advantage. If Osten is lying about swimming/being weak, it would be smart to play it to the hilt and not let on to anyone. It has been rumored he makes it to the final 3/4. My thought is that he keeps it up, even after the merge as long as someone else is the bigger threat to be booted. Towards the end, he wins when he needs to. If he makes it to the final 3 and they go thru the usual 'torture' challenge, and one of the supposed final women outlast him or since we have seen him not to be the sharpest tool in the shed, he actually thinks either of them will pick him and lets go or drops out, then the women make a deal to take each other, bye bye Osten. Leading to his big regret. My guess is by mid season, JP/MR figure out his game or he lets it slip in confessional. Since it his strategy, they don't out him at Tribal Councils (ie JP didn't question Jenna on why give Heidi the IN, because of strategy) and the other castaways don't know it until the confessional airs.
In this way the BL has nothing to do with the BR. So maybe only the BR and BT are related.
