LAST EDITED ON 06-07-12 AT 03:54 PM (EST)Whole lot going on right now, so I decided to compile the complaining in a single post.
1. The Five Million Point Giveaway. This is similar to the bonus point handouts they've had in the past, only with more total points given away, less open access -- you need one of the Olympic-branded 12-packs to get a freebie entry, otherwise it's AMOE or spend three points to play -- and the prizes are more stratified. You can only win one prize at each level, and those levels are 10 points (lots), 1000 points (one per hour), and 10,000 points (once a day). Every play also gives you an entry into the final sweepstakes, where one person will win their choice of either 250,000 points (at 10k a week for 25 weeks) or a $10,000 Visa card. (I'm not taking that last one too seriously because pretty much everyone who enters an Olympic twelve-pack code has a ticket in the draw and that makes the odds worse than the lottery.) The instant win runs for the rest of the month.
I've been lucky on this one: the 10-point code came on Day One -- and then much to my surprise, a 1000-pointer followed it. (It's fun merely to see the words 'You Just Added 1000 Points To Your Account' appear on the screen). I don't think I'm going to sweep the field, but I'll keep trying until July hits. Couldn't hurt. Much. But there's nothing I can do to increase my odds here:
