Because I got started early thanks to one of my locals putting out their pieces ahead of deadline, have the circle passing in their buys & finds, and sent in a few SASEs for the first time, I have been able to play ten pieces a day from the start of the contest forward. I'm also only eighty-one pieces away from being able to play at that rate all the way through the end. (Anything I might somehow get over that number would be donated to Molaholic so he can try his luck at getting bonus points for the school. It's a big number to overcome, but not an impossible one.) That would put me in the dead zone -- the time when pieces are no longer being distributed at the chain, but the online play is still going. There's theoretically less players at that time -- but most of the prizes have been won, so no real benefit generally results. For peel-and-wins:
4 Quarter-Pounders
5 Frappe/Smoothies
4 McFlurry/Parfait
8 Breakfast Sandwich
25 Medium Fries *sigh*
2 MCR Codes (40 points each)
1 Snapfish (2 5*7" prints. If anyone wants the code, PM me.)
Online:
4 Redbox
7 MCR
And enough 0-for-10s to make me an honorary New York Yankee.
I think the corporate goal this year was to make the online portion of the game so dismal, less people than ever would want to play it. If so, mission just about accomplished. I've assembled three MCR bonus weeks with luck, careful salvaging, circle, and Hobbs. But even with 40 points per win instead of last year's 30, I don't feel I'm going to match or exceed the previous total. I do feel like I'm wasting my time, mostly after yet another 0-for-10.
And I have too many gawdsdamned Medium Fries.
