"Bethenny was SUPPOSED to win... Page Six Shocker" |
Hi All, I've never posted here before (but been a dedicated lurker), however, I read an article in today's New York Post that I thought was a "must share." Many apologies in advance if this was posted already. Apprently, Bethenny was supposed to WIN, but Charles' little granddaughter spilled the beans before a live audience (not currently on the air) during the finale. I can't believe that this was actually true, or if it was, why it didn't escalate into a scandal of Randal vs. Rebecca "Apprenti" proportions, but I digress... To be cute, someone asked Charles' little grandaughter who she though would win...the kid is like 5yrs old or something. Her reply was "Bethenny is going to win b/c Martha didn't like Dawna's fashion show." This clearly seemed to be something the child heard and did not surmise herself. According to the report, the entire athmosphere of the broadcast changed after that and handlers rushed to "change the script to keep the surprises going" and Bethenny and Dawna was quickly isolated until the decision was made. It seems that Martha quickly changed her decision from Bethenny to Dawna very very last minute so the outcome would not have been spoiled or ruined. As we all saw, Dawna was then declared the next (and, sadly, only) Martha Stewart Apprentice. I'm not sure if you can access this story on the NY Post website... I haven't checked yet. However, the website is www.nypost.com and the column that this was reported under in the "real" newspaper was called "Page Six." Although this is a gossipy column with a lot of eclectic stories, the columnist is usually right...where's there's smoke, there's fire. Or, in this case, hire...

We all saw the fashion show and it sucked. It should have been something the child herself could have concluded provided she had the taste of a even a yak. I don't see how this would have changed anything since it didn't air. So what if the audience knew? The television audience wouldn't have known what was said. And remember with Kelly and Jennifer? Everybody and their mother picked Kelly to win. Trump kept asking this one and that one to build suspense, but for some reason the guy that thinks the police are a branch of the military and should conduct war games in the middle of NYC was the one people wanted to win. Plus the finale of Martha Stewart was boring. It's more likely it was embarrassing that the little girl spoke the truth about what Martha said and repeated it. Remember everyone: "LITTLE PICTURES HAVE BIG EARS!" The only scandal will be how Martha will keep Dawna from making ANY creative decisions. With that taste I shiver to think what the heck will be on the cover. A tweed hooded madras printed exercise jog suit with a button down shirt and loafers? So I don't see how it can be true. Remember some people HATE Martha. They already took her down on a trumped up charge so this type of gossip is par for the course. Some people just do not give up.

Wanted to add one more thing, anyone who watched the close-ups on Martha during the fashion show would also have known this. There was ONE dress at the end that Dawna couldn't find a way to ruin and Martha commented, "Oh, THAT one's nice!" Again, it points to Martha's enemy taking another swing at her for no particular reason. Silly at best.

I believe the report is rubbish.First off, the show had already been cancelled so what would be more important to Martha to save the face of the show by adding elements of surprise (for the live audience) or to hire the person she wants as an apprentice? At this point it would not matter if the suspense was ruined because the show will never air again. Also, if the girl said that Bethanny won in front of the live audience beforehand but not on the air it still would not of made it to the public to ruin their suspense. And if the audience believed the statement to be true that the suspense was tainted even though she picked Dawna in the end. And if you look at the editing does it really look like Bethanny was edited to win or Dawna....to me it looks like Dawna. Sure Martha could've changed what she said, but under short notice it would've been next to impossible to re-edit the show in that time frame. Therefore I believe these reports to be rubbish.

I believe the report is rubbish. You are correct. There was no reason for Martha to change her mind. Also, it really bothers me if a small child making a simple statement can alter the outcome of the show Martha isn't very stable herself. Besides we all know how unreliable the media can be. I just do not give this story ANY credit whatsoever.
