Tums! I think I may disagree with you here. I think their lives are different in the alternate timeline. We just don't have enough information to confirm either way though.

Locke-true in a wheelchair but we don't know how. Maybe his father did not push him this time? Remember like Charlie with constantly defeating death in the main timeline, Locke kept hurting his legs. It could be a course correction. Even if it happened the same way his attitude like Jack's just seems different.

Jack-while the circumstances seem to be the same we just don't know. We also don't know if Oceanic lost his Dad in the original timeline do we? The coffin WAS empty when Jack found it on the island. But Jack again was very relaxed and appeared to be not such a mess.

Boone- Shannon did not come with him, decided to stay with her lover. Did he seem that torn up about it? We can't really tell. He seemed all right.

Sawyer- this one we have no way if is a con man. He again gave off a different vibe.

Kate- in the videos released this summer(you all have watched them right? ) it was an Americas Most Wanted about her. She killed a different man. Not her stepfather. So yes, she is still on the run but for a different crime.

Regarding Desmond, we dont' know if he was really there do we? Only Jack saw him. He was wearing a wedding ring. If the island did get destroyed in '77 it's unlikely that Penny was on it. Widemore had her off island, that was reason for his banishment. If that is who they were talking about at the time.
