As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."
I don't think I spoke at all about Christie's weight or physique, Real. I think her attitude toward dieting and exercise is a symptom of her other problems. SHE is the one that wants to be thin; I think she looks fine the way she is and is quite attractive.
Since she has had a gastric bypass, she really needs to be responsible about her diet and probably exercise as well. Exercise is something we should all do for ourselves, even if it is just a 20 minute walk. Also, it is crucial for gastric bypass patients to eat very nutritious food because they can eat so little. Unfortunately, Christie could be on the road to gaining back most of the weight she lost, especially now that she is off the alcohol and drugs.
I agree that thin people can be as screwed up as larger people. (I don't believe Christie is fat.) Look at Lisa1 and Kim, for instance. But sometimes excessive weight is due to an eating disorder (overeating, binge eating) just as excessive thinness can be.
Edited to add: I believe what the ladies/gentlemen are saying in this thread is that exercise and a proper diet are two important things that we can do to take care of ourselves, that many women do not do. It is just as important as working on your "inner self" because the way you take care of yourself is indicative of how you feel about yourself. It is also an issue of self-discipline. As for their working on their inner selves; they sure do spend a lot of time on makeovers and putting on makeup, etc.
