PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."
They compose their own blog entries (and tweets): we've actually seen a few of them at the computer working out what they're going to say. Of the three people to hold HoH so far, Matt's the clearest writer. Hayden can get a few things across, but has trouble with apostrophes and comma placement. Rachel... she's posted two blog entries. The first one isn't exactly an improvement.
Hamsterwatch has been doing All-Rachel Ratings on her blog days, writing things up the way she apparently would. In that format, it can be funny. But when you really see that it's her chosen writing style...
To be a chemist, you have to at least be able to write out a formula and compose a comprehensible lab report on your findings. I have to think Rachel can wring the alcohol out of her keyboard and write dry when she absolutely has to: she never would have passed a class otherwise. (Either that or she had a lot of friends transcribing her papers.) But if this is what comes out when she's writing 'as herself' --
-- well, it could just be the self she's choosing to present to the house: crazy Vegas party girl who only gets acquainted with the language if it'll buy her a drink. But I don't think she wants America to believe she's (at best) a one-field intellect. And reading through this writing style makes it hard to believe anything anything else.
