For several seasons I've been listing my favorite dances, and seeing how they compare to your favorites. Here's mine:Partner Dances:
1.) Alex & Twitch Hip Hop – Nappy Tabs, “Get Outa My Mind”. Wow! To go from such a high as killing this HH, to being injured and out the next week was such a disappointment for Alex and the viewers. But at least we were able to see Alex’s brilliance while he was here.
2.) Billy & Ade Contemporary – Stacey Tookey, “Mad World” businessman and homeless person. Billy has such a quirky, unique style that was really highlighted in this dance.
3.) Lauren & Kent Contemporary – Travis Wall Prom dance. Beautifully choreographed and danced showcasing the top two dancers.
4.) Robert & Allison Contemporary – Travis Wall, “Fix You”. The emotion on Allison’s face made the piece, but Robert was a strong partner too. Robert's turning point dance.
5.) Alex & Allison Contemporary/Jazz – Sonia Tayeh, “Hallelujiah”. Both danced exquisitely. The best female dancer and best male dancer SYTYCD has ever had.
6.) Kent & Neil Contemporary – Travis Wall, “How It Ends” Bromance Breakup. The Kent and Neil partnership was a good one, and Kent was finally able to show emotion in a piece. And Neil has become a much better dancer since Season 3.
7.) Robert & Dominic Hip Hop – Nappy Tabs’ clown HH. A fun concept and well danced by both dancers.
8.) Kent & Neil Broadway – Tyce Diorio Baseball players. A great athletic routine that combined the best of their dancing and gymnastic abilities.
9.) Adechike & Comfort Hip Hop – Nappy Tabs, “Fallin’”. Comfort has really improved as a HH dancer, and Adechike was right there with her.
10.) Cristina & Pasha Paso Doble – One of the better Pasos, and it was too bad Cristina went home after such a fine performance.
Group Dances:
1.) Meet the Dancers Top 11 & All Stars – Wade & Amanda Robson Tea Party Jazz. I loved this routine and watched it over and over. Uniquely Wade’s style, but also showcased the All Stars and the newbies.
2.) Finale Top 11 & All Stars – Christopher Scott, LXD Choreographer. Loved the sharp movements and hand isolations. And seeing Alex up there sitting down on a chair but giving it his all was great. Very cool look – they should get him to choreograph more.
3.) (Allison) in Wonderland – Mia Michaels Contemporary with Allison in pink in the chair on the table and all the guys in black and white dancing around her. Very whimsical look and movement. (Mia should definitely stick with choreography and not judging).
