Thanks IceCat, I hadn't noticed
So the competition starts in Sydney Harbour and the teams have to use logic to extract their cars, a task that every team except team Native managed easily.
From there to the airport scrum and to Manila, taxi to the market (PC Plod managed to spend all their money by misreading the meter) eat 8 Balut, and off for a ten hour bus ride on a charter bus where the local snake charmer lets them choose between catching four pigs in a mudpit or "a local dance" by the end only the Hippies managed to complete the dance.
Off to build a raft and paddle to Phil Grant, first team to arrive gets 10k and a Salvage Pass (either get an hours head start next leg, or save the team that arrives last this leg from elimination). Two teams drag locals in to help them build their rafts (Boo, Hiss)
First Impressions
1. Ross and Tarryn - Dad and Daughter.
If he is an ex Aussie rules player then I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him, raced well and built a good raft. Rosses speech about how much he wanted to run the race with his daughter send shivers down my spine. I dub thee Team Aussie Rules.
2. Kym and Donna - Not sure which one is which yet but they look like this seasons Bikers an older couple who will race hard, swear, and generally be entertaining. You are Team Phryne (because either Donna or Kym has the same hairstyle as the divine Miss. Fisher)
3. James and Sarah - You run faster in heels than in trainers, and you think a ra ra skirt and g-string are good for pig wrangling? I'm not sure how they got such a good finish, but I suppose they are racing well. You have to be Team Cougar.
4. Sue and Theresa - Hairdressers! Really? I can't think that you have any customers with your barnets, I also think the aura cleansing spray could become annoying very quickly. Nothing more appropriate than Team Hippies.
5. Sticky and Sam - Are going to run into big problems if they have to drive a manual car as their driver only has one hand, seem much nicer than a team of Alphas have a right to be. Will always be Team Sticky.
6. Joseph and Grace - Winners of "best swimsuit" for this episode, seems like he doesn't think she is going to be much use then she chugs down the Balut and wrestles pigs like a pro. Team Tops.
7. Michelle and Jo - <OMG> it's Kami and Karli from TAR 5, after all who doesn't like a pair of arguing blonde twins, seemed OK at the start of the episode, not so much by the end. Have to be Team Doublemint.
8. Shane and Andrew - Pleasant Police Officers, too much running not enough thinking makes them Team PC Plod
9. Adam and Dane - Another alpha male team who may be jumping before looking, were lucky that other teams were as bad at raft buildiong as they were. Nice to see some Indigenous Australians taking part considering everything. I dub thee Team Native.
10. Paul and Steve - Alpha male team who think far too much of themselves, really not sure why they weren't penalised for getting assistance with the raft building. Team MIBIII you are.
11. Lucy and Emilia - Two Italian girls who race not well, but continue thanks to other teams generosity. I dub thee Team Italia.
Next Week, Delihi! Trouble for Team Cougar! More Dancing! Cows knocking over milk bowls! And Grant is unable to check one team in!
Native from the Latin for Born.
Useless as ##### on a Bull. Got to love those Australianisms
