PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

Project Runway has always had some drama, but this season it seems to have gone over the top. I love Project Runway for the clothes and the design, if I wanted drama, meanness, and words being bleeped out every two seconds, there are plenty of other shows I could tune in to. Anyone else bothered by this?

Welcome Willow...It's part of reality that I'm afraid we just have to accept. I do agree tho. I'd rather see good designs and fair competition. While I don't think the day to day work and runway time is totally scripted (I do think a lot of ideas are planted in their heads to cause drama), I do think they script a lot of what the designers have to say in their private camera shots. It's the way of every reality show.

I read a book about each season. The contestants said that they are asked to talk about the other designers in their interviews. They quickly figure out that the interview drags on if they don't say what the producers want to hear, and the producers don't want to hear how wonderful everyone is.

Thanks, jbug. I think you're right that most people think it's part of reality that we "have to accept." I'm wondering, though, why we have to accept it. We are the viewers, thus the customers. Maybe if everyone who was upset by it wrote a letter to the station, or better yet, to the advertisers on the show, we could be heard.
