May 17 Antonia calls a creditor to work out a payment deal; Dr. Stan tells Christie how to deal with pressures and reminds her that everything does not have to be perfect; Niambi tells Dr. Stan she wants a relationship with ``Mr. Situation.'' Iyanla''s obsession with 'bankruptcy' could seriously lead these women into lifelong consequences! True, after a certain number of years financial records are cleared but the lingering affect of the emotional part is *forever*! This I know because one relative and two of my friends filed years ago and they still talk about it to this day as being one of the worse and most regrettable events in their lives! There ARE other ways to clear debt and besides, the laws have changed and these days, not so easy to wipe the slate clean. Outrageous! gawd!! You can keep your house if you have one and be back in credit cards within a year or two. I'm hearing that the laws are getting tougher and I hope they are. Come on!! Why is their answer to everyone who owes $$ to investigate bankruptcy?! They did the same thing with Alison (who decided that begging for financial gifts on her website was a better idea). Why don't they eliminate that as an option because Antonia has no serious excuse for her debt. She didn't have to feed a family, she doesn't have exorbitant medical bills, she isn't homeless, she's just plain immature and spoiled. I had a horrible experience where a significant other charged $18,400 in my name. Rather than run from the debt, I visited a credit counselor who taught me how to PAY IT ALL BACK!! I am about $2800 from the end right now. Credit counseling can help reduce the monthly payment (by reducing the interest rates with the creditors) but you will pay it ALL back.
