"You may be right - VIOLENCE THREATENS BIG BROTHER 2" http://www.canoe.ca/Canoe/canoejam.html Based on recent events in the Big Brother 2 house fans may be left wondering if they are watching an episode of 'Cops' or their favorite reality show on the Internet. In a bid to make this year's version more intriguing than the last, CBS has herded several volitile personalities in the house to elevate the ratings. This has caused several violent flare ups in what is supposed to be a voyeuristic but harmless game show of mind games, alliances and challenges. Most of the violent incidents surround Justin, a 26-year-old bartender from New Jersey. As seen on television, Justin physically threatened Kent, a 46-year-old mortgage broker when he was confronted about "borrowing" the pillow Kent brought into the house. In the most recent incident, Justin was seen putting a knife to contestant Krista's throat and said asked her if she would be "mad" if he killed her. Krista was laughing during Justin's actions. This happened after a night of boozing by the younger House Guests in which both Justin and Krista participated in. Justin's racist comments, bullying and aggressive behaviour have not gone over well with other House Guests. Some are so fearful that they have threatened to leave the game voluntarily and hold CBS legally responsible if they don't take steps to expell him. Ironically, Justin himself admitted to the other House Guests on the live Net feed of the show that when he met with the show's psychologist she termed him as an "intelligent psycho". Except for the confrontation with Kent, none of this footage has aired on the Big Brother 2 television show which is many days behind the live happenings in the house. Rumours persist that Justin's disruptions to the house might be dealt with on Thursday's live show during which either Sherlyn or Nicole will be voted out of the house by the other House Guests. JAM! Showbiz contacted CBS about the the knife incident involving Justin. CBS management is currently discussing the problem and will be making a decision on what to do about it this afternoon. In the reality show airing on CBS on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. (E.D.T.), 12 contestants have their every action recorded by 38 cameras and 62 microphones for three months as they live in a house on the CBS Studio lot. Each week the contestants vote one of their own out of the house until there are just three of them left. The three surviving House Guests will be subjected to a final vote. The winner will walk home with $500,000, the second runner-up receives $100,000 and the third $50,000. By signing up with a Big Brother 2 package at RealNetworks, fans can watch live feeds from the house 24 hours a day. (More on: Big Brother 2 & Big Brother). According to Inside.com, on Tuesday night CBS removed Big Brother 2 contestant Justin from the abode after he menaced housemate Crista with a kitchen knife. The duo had apparently been drinking when the 26-year-old Bayonne, N.J., native asked her if she'd still love him "if I killed you" — then he held the blade to her throat as they kissed! Only fans who subscribe to Real Networks's 24-hour online coverage saw this exchange. On tonight's episode, CBS will air only some of the footage — excluding the actual knife-wielding bit — and Justin will explain himself to host Julie Chen in an exit interview. A show rep has not yet returned TV Guide Online's calls.   Top

Apparently, Krista was not bothered by Justin. Justin also relieved himself on the mirrored windows that hide the cameras, and broke some stuff in the house. There were a few other big blow ups last night involving Autumn and Mike and Autumn and Shannon. I don't know what CBS will find suitable from this bunch for prime time TV. All this broke loose after the housegests cigarettes were taken away!   Top

I cannot believe the amount of smoking they have already shown on primetime, too. Just waiting for the anti-smoking brigade to coming roaring out in opposition to bb2. If this is what happens when the addicts stop smoking for a few hours, imagine the hell that would break loose if CBS decided to ban all smoking for the duration. I think they'd have the revolt on their hands that the hamsters from bb1 were too chicken to actually go through with. Disclaimer: I got nothing against smokers, and have been known to have a cigarette with a drink now and again. But, in my memory, I have never seen the volume of smoking on t.v. shown on this season's BB2 (also on the Real World, for that matter). I always thought they couldn't show smoking on t.v. shows. But I guess reality t.v. is exempt from that. Makes you wonder if CBS may have a new sponsor for this show. Things that make you go hmmmm.... Edited because I can't spell.   Top

According to Withers there are no plans to replace Justin with another contestant. The first banishment vote will still be held on Thursday. Either Nicole - the provocative newlywed - or Sherlyn - the 43-year-old divorced mother and interior designer - will be voted out.
