Regarding the DS child, I have a child with autism, not an autistic child, because my son is more important than the mental obstacle that he lives with. It's Down Syndrome some people do say Downs Syndrome but the syndrome is named after Dr. Down who was the first doctor to do research. I too refer to my son as having DS not a DS child. He's my son first, who has done nothing but bless my life since his birth. I try not to be thin skinned about remarks and comments but, as you probably have experienced, other people's insensitivity can get the best of you.   Top
