"Loser Lodge? Sequesterville? or What?"
LAST EDITED ON 09-20-07 AT 11:09 AM (EST)

I watched some of TBL last season & decided to try to catch all of it this year (my niece went to 'audition?' but didn't get on - she did however meet David while waiting in line, so we're rooting for him.)

Anyway, I'm wondering:

Obviously this show is not "live" as in BB.

When they are voted off, do they actually go home? or to some holding place? If they go home, then their family would know that they didn't win.

Will the contestants know who actually won before the big finale? Or it sorta like Survivor - they do the final weigh in and have to wait for the results?

Any more deatails anyone knows? Thanks for your input.

ETA: Wouldn't it be great if they DID send them to another 'camp' to continue their weight loss with help - just not in the competition for the big $$. I know they have to plan a lot of time away from work and family, making arrangements for bills to be paid at home, etc. - so it'd be terrible to make all the plans and then be gone for only a week.

I'm sure there is someone with a more complete answer than this, but judging from the end of each show where they show us how the eliminated "Loser" has been doing, it looks like they go home after they are booted. In the past they get down to the final two and those two go home for the last few months of the contest and meet up at the finale for the weigh-in. I am guessing they have something in their contract about what they can say after they go home so things don't get spoiled. It doesn't look like anyone knows the winner until the finale but then again we could be fooled (as the viewing audience)

If someone else has better answers, go for it!

It's quite obvious if someone you know just went to the ranch and all of a sudden they are sent back home faster than you can imagine LOL. Thats kinda embarrassing too LMAO. Some people have big azz mouths so if someone you know was voted out it would probably be hard for them to keep their mouth shut. But if they did get all of that stuff together prior to the show then they really wouldn't have to go back to work or whatever. Hmmm, a bit mind boggling.

The Biggest Loser is filmed in advance as we all know so by the time there is like three or four players left they are all sent home to prepare for the finale. What I am trying to get at is that at the end of each episode, they show the eliminated player and what they have been doing since their elimination. Perhaps they caught up with them on what they have been doing during their elimination lately. Either a few weeks before the show begins to air or while the show is airing? They have enough time to get in touch with an eliminated player each week while the show is actually on T.V. at the moment. So they could be somweher else. We all know their is always a catch to what they call "realty T.V." So Who knows?

Based on past years, my guess is the "how are they doing now" is shot the same week that the final 3 are send home to continue their weight loss. Because at the finale they had lost even more, so there had to be some sort of time lag.

They are sent home so the family knows they didn't win.

The final four are kept together and sent home together
