"Country Rock Songs They Should Have Sung"
Here are some country rock songs off the top of my head that would have better flexed their vocal talent (this would make a great mix cd!):

Train, Train - Blackfoot
Highway Song - Blackfoot
Dixie Chicken - Little Feat
Whipping Post - The Allman Brothers Band
Ramblin' Man - The Allman Brothers Band
Midnight Rider - The Allman Brothers Band
Heard It In A Love Song - Marshall Tucker Band
Hold On Loosely - .38 Special
Amie - Pure Prarie League
Freebird - Skynryd
Green Grass and High Tides - The Outlaws
Dreams I'll Never See - Molly Hatchet
Simple Man - Skynryd
Can't You See - Marshall Tucker Band
Rocky Mountain Way - Joe Walsh
Blackwater - Doobie Brothers

Any more???

1. "RE: Country Rock Songs They Should Have Sung"
Olivia has such a strong catalog, were they banned from singing one of hers? "Have You Never Been Mellow" is a great one.
"Desperado"
"Blue Bayou"
"Angel of the Morning" or even "Love's Been a Little Bit Hard on Me"
"Feel Like A Woman" for Carmen on her 18th BDay.
"God Bless The USA"

Exactly! I'm not sure how they go about picking songs. Although these kids are so young, they may not have ever heard many of these. I wonder if they are presented a playlist and told: pick one of these? I'd imagine it'd have to be limited because they need to have the backing vocals and music ready in time for the show.

shameless- billy joel wrote it, garth made it famous and josh would have rocked the house with it.
there's your trouble- this dixie chicks tune would have been good for julia. or that leann rhimes song that is in coypte ugly would have been good.
wide open spaces- another dixie chicks tune, but this one would have been GREAT for carmen.
then what by clay what's his name or the pina colada song sung by garth "give me two pina coladas, one or each hand. let's set sail with captain morgan, we'll never reach dry land..." would have been good for clay aiken. maybe even ty herndon's, i have to surrender.
