This could be a fun week, with "current" songs. As i understand it they can pick a song from the current top 100 iTunes downloads. Take a look at the current list and lets try to pick what would be good for each contestant? Will Lil try and sing Beyonce? Will Kris do a Jason Mraz song? And what the #*$@ will Adam pick? Hmm, after Ring of Fire, the Journey song I'd like to see Adam tackle is Lovin', Touchin' Squeezin'. Then again, they might have to air it after all the kiddies go to bed! If Adam wins the hat draw, I would guess DSB might be his pick, he has said he'd like to sing it for Randy, and that, and I quote, "When I do it, it doesn't sound karaoke (sp)." If he doesn't win the hat draw though, he can sing darn near anything.   Top

The ones you suggested would be fine choices for Lil. As for Loree's suggestion that Adam might do "Don't Stop Believing," I'd like to see that -- I like that song. Do you think it would be a good choice for Adam? It might -- as long as he's not too over-the-top (which is why I usually don't like him).   Top

I think Scott and Anoop could be shown up--unless they pick slower songs. And the judges told Anoop he should "change it up" this week. Wonder how much behind the scenes pressure he is getting? I think all three girls could come out well this week. And I expect good things from Chris, Danny and Adam. Matt had difficulty with the Coldplay song (ironically still in the top 100), so he will repeat that mistake with his selection this week?   Top

Read on MJ's Big Blog that David Cook will perform on Wednesday, they are also showing 30 seconds of his new video in a commercial break tied to an AT&T promo, and Lady Gaga will also perform "Poker Face" (so take that number off of the top 100 list that the AIers have to chose from).   Top

I just looked at the list, and wow, I can't say I recognize half of it, but what pops out at me are -Kings of Leon- Good for Danny and Matty G Seether's cover of "Careless Whisper"- Can Glambert pass up George Micheal? Or will he shatter glass with Muse's "Supermassive Blackhole"? Ting Ting's "That's not my name"- Allison could really have fun with this if she doesn't pick a Pink song The Fray- good for Kris Jason Mraz- I'd actually like to hear Megan try this. But I'm wrong a lot. I don't know what would be good for Lil, but if she picks something midtempo w/ some good glory notes, I'm sure she'll do great with it. I don't have any ideas for Anoop, and Scott may have to do another country song. Should be entertaining.   Top

Danny - I'd like to see him do Shinedown or Framing Hanely but I'll guess Rascal Flatts Kris - I'd love to hear him do The Fray but I'm guessing Mraz. Lil - Beyonce. "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" makes me dance Matt - Jesse McCartney? (I can't think of what he sounds like.) I have this thing in my head that's telling me he's going to do "Careless Whisper" or some slow thing. I'd like to see Matt do well. I just talked to my in-laws yesterday about the show. My MIL LOVES Adam as does my niece. Danny was the second pick for both of them. Neither of them like Matt or Megan and neither of them could remember enough about Kris to comment (that made me pouty). Oh and my MIL has a block on Anoop's name. We must have told her 50 times yesterday. "Asoop" "Asnoop" "Snoop" "Asoopalay" "What's that one guy's name again?" It was crazy. heh. Talking about Josh Logan made me want to watch Supernova again so I pulled out the DVDs. Man, that show was awesome. It helped me gain back some perspective. The reason I don't think Lil would do "Single Ladies" is that it's a song that takes a lot of energy and Beyonce's moves do a lot for that song. I'm reading things in other places that say the list is iTunes #1 downloads. That opens the door quite a bit. At the same time, it also kind of limits the list, if that makes sense. Good point about Lil and the moving. Maybe, if it is #1 downloads, she could do "Irreplaceable". I like that one too.   Top
