Here's a hint: the only right answer was 'Frank'. We recycled the Veto competition from Jeff's Clown Shoes Of Death (ironic, considering how well that footwear goes with his brain), and we're still filming the same stupid script. The theme of the house is always 'Revenge!', Frank has to take 'Revenge!' for the lost Malin and the other hamsters costing Endemol the chance to sneak him still more money, and so Frank is HoH. Because Grodner will keep him in the cage until he wins by any means necessary. And that means I'll give you the nominations for free: Dan and Ian with Shane on backdoor standby. No, Frank hasn't made them yet. He doesn't have to. No one has to do anything except follow the script and the script says Frank wins another one and takes revenge for Malin's exit. The script also says he wins Veto next week. In case you were wondering. He is not playing this game with a clover up his rear. He is playing it with the producer in his pocket.

1. "Overnight..." |
...Dan was made a Have-Not. He seems to have volunteered for it. ...no one has figured out what Joe's non-speech of last night meant. However, since it has once again been proven that nominating him can temporarily shut him up, what are the others waiting for? ...as is tradition for the speed dating HoH, Ian did get his letter and basket. He's at least pretending guilt over the letter from his parents, whom he claims told him to be true to himself and gee, he just hasn't been. Sure, because those first few weeks of leading people on was a total lie... ...the collective lips of the house (minus Dan's) are firmly pressed against Frank's rear and will not change location for some time. However, Frank seems to be playing it cagey about his nominations. He's made it clear that Dan is his main target, but he's talking to Ian in a less-than-hostile manner and has told him that he still loves him, which may be in that classic Mafia kiss of death way. But openly? It's blaming Dan, who talked poor innocent Ian into doing this and now Frank will take him back and it's him and Ian against the world. No, seriously. And of course Ian is going along with this -- but we're not getting the DR sessions, so who knows what's actually going on? It's just hard to believe Frank could be that dumb. Desperate? Maybe -- he's essentially playing alone at this point. But he should be able to count votes... right? Britney's been laying it on thick enough to leave a blood residue behind, telling Frank she's perfectly happy with second place and he so deserves to win -- while Frank is indicating he might use her as a pawn if someone comes down. Maybe. Frank's true intentions are known only to the script and everyone watching the stupid show. ...Danielle thinks this is all about her. (Surprise!) She thinks the nominations will be herself and Dan. She thinks Frank will orchestrate the cage to get her out over anyone else. She thinks that if Dan wins the Veto, he'll save her. Danielle thinks a lot. And nothing real ever results from it. She's trying to work Frank in the HoH almost as I write this, targeting Ian with all her verbal lack of might. She has yet to leap on top of him and declare him her new boyfriend. But give her time. ...Dan is still trying to play the game in such a way so he won't have to actually win any competitions. His plan is to trick Frank into nominating Joe as his block partner by talking Joe up as his most essential ally -- and then watch the votes take the chef out the door. Because Dan has apparently reached that Will-like point where he doesn't remember how to win anything. And he thinks Frank will listen to him. Mist only goes so far, y'know. And then it evaporates against the heat of pure hatred. ...Shane is freaked. He pulled a Jeff (recycled. script.) and threw his clover out of the box during Veto. (Dan was screaming at him. Never got through.) He knows he's a target. He thinks Frank is going to get a Pandora to give him still more power. He is as completely thrown as Danielle, only while staying in Earth orbit. He thinks he's the backdoor. Or the frontdoor. Or just throw him out the window. ...it's Britney's birthday. Don't worry about presents. She got herself a phone call.

I'd play the game the same way but, in this situation, it has one giant problem: The Quack Pack may decide to eliminate Dan because they need all of their firepower to beat Frank. Dan's best chance to stay would be opposite Ian.

14. "The 'something'." |
Ian has it.Pandora triggered a competition, mostly played in the backyard. So far, we know three things happened: * Dan went total jerk in full public sight, threatening to rat Ian out -- apparently among other things. Ian may have confronted Dan from his side and currently feels like crap for doing so (or is acting that way). This has finally cast a negative light on Dan's actions in the cage. * Frank won 3K. * Ian got a very weird trick -- a Veto ball. This does not mean the standard Veto is out of play: the competition is tomorrow and Ian can't play in it: he's not allowed to hold both. This presumably applies even if he's nominated. Ian may use the ball to void out one nomination, as usual: timespan unknown, probably just this week. But if he does, Frank says Britney goes up -- and this may even be automatic as a condition of the power instead of a Frank threat. No matter who comes down, if it isn't Britney being saved, then Britney is on the block. And if it is Britney? No idea. Britney wins the Veto and uses it, making her immune from nomination? Not a clue. Does Ian use it at the nominations? The Veto meeting? Again, this is a BB twist and the concept of the rats having worked it all out is a joke -- but the feeds just came back a few minutes ago and the hamsters are still trying to sort through events. Dan is trying to come up with scenarios where the entire Quack Pack can stay off the block if everything breaks their way. Let him dream for a while. More coming in... Shane destroyed something while looking around and got a bag -- coins? Could be the garbage can. Could be the toilet. Might have been both. Okay, it sounds like the arcade machine came into play. They might have had to find gold coins in the house and feed them in: whatever ball came out was what you won. The others have been saying that Dan was out for only himself in this, and it now appears he hoarded coins and refused to share them out with anyone in his alliance(s), Danielle most especially included. The chaos needs some time to shake out. Expect nominations to be late.

It does show Frank's limited grasp of strategy though. Brit, Shane and Ian control the vote and putting Dan against Danielle doesn't put any stress on them. Either they figure they'll keep Danielle as a goat for F2 or they keep Dan to help them get rid of Frank. Putting Shane or Britney up against Dan would have torn apart the alliance.

You're right, of course. Unless Frank has a backdoor plan that he hasn't revealed, not nominating Shane makes no sense. (I didn't expect him to nominate Brit with Ian holding the veto ball, but I'm not really paying much attention.)

26. "RE: Anticipation...is correct" |
I don't get why Brit would go home instead of Danielle because the quack pack controls the vote: - Dan: Would want to keep another vet around just to deflect the attention. - Shane: He'd keep his coach and get rid of his shadow in one move. He has to know that Brit can help him more than Danielle. - Ian: He'd follow the other two to avoid making waves. And even Joe would probably keep Brit over Danielle. Joe likes to make deals and, for that, you need someone that can understand what the word deal means. Of course, Frank could try to influence the vote but being unable to win HoH for 2 weeks removes all his bargaining power. (Dumbass move in his situation) The possibility is great that Frank will be gone before he can do anything more in the game.

Having Britney being shackled to Danielle is redundant.(Comedy of the day: Danielle openly wondered if she was 'clingy or something'.) Both, Danielle. And then some.) The list as we know it. Note that there isn't a single reward in the group. Joe: Did not play Shane: Took no punishments Jenn: Veto On slop, possibly for the rest of the game Had several of her clothes burned: total amount unknown Britney: Chained to Danielle by the ankle Danielle: Had paint thrown on her Chained to Britney by the ankle Frank: Can't play for one additional HoH (two weeks total) Stuck in a carrot suit for one week Must take a chum bath whenever the rats give the signal Took a bath in something green -- avocados? Was disqualified (Punishments had to be taken silently. Frank spoke aloud at some point and was knocked out of competition. He claims buzzer trouble.) Dan: Had to eat something gross Stuck in the Have-Not room for one day, no contact with the others Have-Not room has been converted into a very loud disco complete with flashing lights, cake and champagne included No one's seen that much of Jenn on the feeds, but her few appearances suggest she's leaning towards leaving the nominations as-is, putting even more pressure (and threats) on Ian. Dan is fretting because it's twenty-four hours for all the mist to wear off. He doesn't know how he's going to talk himself out of this one. And the DR may no longer be with him. But it's not a two-day hold, so he'll have some time -- if it ultimately matters.

Everyone except Joe and Ian (who will host). Ian has been talking about how the Powers That Be don't want him using the Veto ball on Dan or Danielle. Dan is threatening him with jury poisoning if he doesn't. The lesson, as always: having power in this game generally svcks. Oh, and Dan is a jerk. But you knew that.

While Dan was in the 24 hour lockdown, he apparently came up with a plan to be safe this week. When he was released, he immediately claimed dizziness and other ailments, then told Danielle he didn't want to talk to her "right now".Now, afew hours later, he called a House meeting where he said his goodbyes, teared up a bit, then, at the end, told Daniellle, "To me, you are now DEAD to me". LOL. Now, imagine how Danielle took that. It just happened a few minutes ago, so it's still happening NOW. Then Dan and Frank go upstairs, and Dan tells Frank of the Quack Pack, about Ian, and is now offering to be Frank's mole! This is happening NOW.

Okay, perhaps I spoke too early. We have yet to see how it all shakes out. However I would like to note that Quack Pack only has control NOW. PRE-POV ceremony. Ian isn't the only one with a veto and Jenn is NOT a part of the QP. But regardless of how it trickles down, Shane and Brit are in big trouble (or potentially). Dan was never sure if Ian would use the veto ball on him and as is evidenced from Ian's confessional during the episode, Dan would be right. SO, time to move on to the next veto holder...Jenn.To follow a train of thought... Dan succeeds in making Frank believe the two of them are now together (and that Ian is more to blame for all of the recent evictions than anyone had been led to believe) they get Jenn on board because she too is without an alliance. And even moreso has only been a victim of Shanes. So, Jenn takes Dan off and both get a vote. Dan's replacement has to be either Brit or Shane. Leaving the QP with 2 votes; Ian and either Brit or Shane. This leaves Joe in the middle. The third for whichever side needs him most. And while it's assured he probably doesn't like Frank, he also doesn't like Shane. And when faced with the chance to do the bidding of the HOH in order to stay safe Joe will avow ANYTHING. So in all honesty, Dan's move (which we still have yet to see actually work) is still, by far, a well thought out one. Dumping your alliance, as you're on the block is a seriously risky move but when there are still two people that have votes, that have also been the victim of the QP, than it's likely they will work together. And removing 2 votes from the QP at the same time, may be the ONLY time it could be done. Now, with all that said, even if Dan makes it through this week, he has a majorly uphill battle for the remainder of the game. He's now aligned with someone who can't play in the HOH comp for 2 weeks(Frank) and another 2 that hardly win anything to begin with(Joe and Jenn). BUT if he can get Shane evicted, his only real competition is Danielle.

36. "Update on the Dan plan" |
LAST EDITED ON 08-27-12 AT 01:23 PM (EST)The Veto ceremony is later today, but it's actually looking pretty good for Dan. If Dan gets off the block, this is seriously one of the greatest escapes in Big Brother history. Frank re-hashed his Dan discussion with Jenn, and now Jenn is on board with using the Veto on Dan, in order to backdoor Britney. The plan (from Jenn/Frank's point of view) is to work with Dan/Dani to get rid of Britney/Ian and then probably Shane. Frank feels that Britney has a finger in too many pies and views her as dangerous. Jenn has had separate discussions, first with Dani then with Dan, and it seems to cement that she wants to use the Veto... Danielle's been surprisingly influential in her discussions with Jenn. Ian's name is getting dragged through the mud majorly right now. It doesn't appear that Britney is aware of what might be coming. She's still talking to Frank a lot about Dan's speech, but Frank hasn't talked about the Jenn stuff with Britney. The crazy thing is that if Brit goes up, couldn't that create a whirlwind of activity again? If Ian is actually that close with Britney, then couldn't he use his Veto ball on her, and then Shane or Joe goes up against Danielle? And if the re-nom turns out to be Joe, then does the Quack Pack officially rejoin again against Frank? Or is everything too messed up now? And if it turns out to be Shane, then does Danielle explode? Although I haven't seen this discussed on the feeds, it seems obvious to me that for this plan to work they first have to nominate Ian, have him use the veto on himself and then nominate Britney as a replacement. I would be surprised if Dan/Frank hasn't already realized that.

LAST EDITED ON 08-27-12 AT 01:48 PM (EST)And if all this goes down as planned, does it force Dan into a position where he has to be loyal towards Frank just because he has nowhere else to go? The usual duration for eternal loyalty in this game is about twelve seconds, but this move burns so many bridges for Dan that it seems he almost has to stay where he winds up. No one should have enough mist to fog their way out of this -- but we haven't been dealing with a particularly intelligent group of hamsters this year. (The name 'Rob' came up today. I put it down with a shotgun.) This would normally also beg the question of jury poisoning, but I think Ian would vote-respect the move as a superfan and Britney might clench her teeth long enough to turn a key. Joe? Not so much. Shane? We'll know what Shane thinks about anything as soon as Shane starts to think. If the DR supports this insanity, the Veto meeting should be early. They won't want any extra time for the mist to wear off.

Actually, Dan doesn't have to forget about the QP. He's already smoothed things over with Danielle, he can tell Ian that all his actions were only designed to save himself, that he didn't endanger Ian that much because he had the veto, Frank already knew most of it and Frank can't be HOH anyway. As for Britney/Shane, one of them will be going home, leaving the other desperate for any alliance. It's a shaky alliance but it could work if one of them wins the next HOH.

Feeds went offline at 2:30 p.m. Eastern, so it was fairly early. Normally, you'd figure a few minutes for the wandering-the-cage shots and thoughtful looks at the memory board, a few more to get everyone seated, maybe an additional three for speeches, two for the big decision, and a few seconds to close the box. Add in Endemol's seasonal love of clouding everything before and after -- we'd probably be looking at forty-five minutes to an hour of downtime. Anything beyond that may indicate an explosion.

Britney is crying, so Danielle is crying. Shane has requested that the DR provide Danielle with a Xanax. (Ten might be better.) Britney knew this was her last week, possibly because the HoH promised she was safe and when's the last time that worked out? And Danielle cries, because her good friend and second mentor, whom she totally knew this was going to happen to, is going. And this is so sad. Because it's not all about Danielle. Wah!Frank told Britney to 'pop a squat' when she went up. He told her this was directed at Ian. Frank's potential jury-working skills are not impressing me. Joe is already trying to sell his vote to Shane. And now Ian and Frank are going at it again. Gosh, where are those fish?

Both Dan and Frank are afraid of Britney's social game and potential ability to gain votes from the jury. (I'm starting to think Dan is terrified of independent women who think for themselves, period.) Frank may feel he can beat Shane any time he really needs to and Dan is confident he can think circles around both of them, so get rid of the one who might second-guess what he's saying and move on from there.

Yeah, it's a good move. There's the argument that Estee made for jury-poisoning, but considering the other option was losing the game... Well, I guess we're going with potential jury poisoning. It could get dicey again for Dan, though, if Ian/Shane noms him and Frank, and then Frank wins Veto again.Honestly, though, I kinda expect the Quack Pack (now with more Joe!) to reunite (at least in theory) next week to bump off Frank. With him not playing in HOH the next two weeks, the moment he doesn't win the Veto, people won't be able to resist the temptation. (Of course, Pandora's Box is always there to save him if need be.) The cage as a whole seems too enamored with Danielle, at least for her 'and she'll believe the next thing I tell her, and whatever I told her before that, at the same time, even when they contradict each other' abilities. Shane might freak without someone around who can tell him what to do, but there are plenty of hamsters ready to take over that position. Joe has sold his vote before this and gone back on the terms, so I expect no loyalty from him to anyone. Ian... with Ian, it may come down to fear of the next HoH, whether that's Frank or not, and this is pretty much around the time Dan might want to consider making a competition move. It's not impossible for Britney to survive this week, but I don't like her odds. And I know the rats aren't going to give her any breaks.

Ian might go after Dan if he can use doing so to repair his relationship with Frank ('See, it was him all along!') and he gets sick of the mostly-passive-some-aggressive bullying. It depends on the status of his temper and spine for that week. Temper we've seen. Spine occasionally feels up for debate.Shane will do whatever someone else tells him to. The position of Shane's official teller is now open. Joe could potentially nominate Dan, but I'm not sure Joe's interested in playing competitions any more than Dan typically is. Jenn's rebellion potential is -- high. Very high. Plus she and Dan are the sort of welded temporary alliance that needs eighteen tons of chains to reinforce. To her mind, she's keeping him as long as his presence protects hers. That is not indefinite, and it means any working partnership between them is a backstab race. Frank is so desperate for someone to work with that if you gave the fish a vote, he'd be swimming right now. Danielle wants you to know that all the stress from this post has given her sickle cell.

Won't have two Pandora appearances in one week, can't use another reset button, still desperate to sell the nomance, and this group remains too dumb for DR manipulation. No tools, no talent, no chance.

I'm in agreement with Estee. Put plain and simply, the Rats want to see a Frank, Ian, Shane and Danielle F4. I'm sure they thought they'd lost those chances when Frank decided it would be best to try as hard as he did for the Veto. After virtually destroying his own chances, the only way to save Frank from himself was to have the QP self-destruct. But how were they gonna do that? Then Dan spends 24hours in solitude and comes out claiming the QP is dead! (Hmmm...strange.) Yes, it saves Dan, (and from our perspective ends up coming off as a brilliant self-preserving move) but moreso it gives the rats more chances to save both Frank and Ian at the same time. I'm sure they would rather have Joe and Jenn on the nom chairs but if Brit goes now, that's okay too. Or at least it's a necessary evil. As far as the rats are concerned, Dan just saved the storyline. And again, I must caution you from thinking, michel. We all know... and would rightfully choose Danielle as the evictee. She's proven to be challenge worthy, she stays off of everybody's radar and also comes off as capable of receiving votes in the end. To me, that spells danger. At least with Britney in the house, the rest stand a chance of winning. (and true to her resourcefulness, Brit made herself party to both Frank and Ian this week.) But Danielle and Shane's story is also high on the roster. It hasn't broken yet and they so desperately want something to break. Unlucky for them Shane is incapable of free-thought. But Danielle is going above and beyond their expectations. So in essence, Dan just saved the storyline, so he gets a temporary pass. The storyline is Underdogs versus NoMance. Britney does not fit into either of those storylines nor can she influence the other variables in Joe/Jenn. My from the ether prediction... Stupid Hamsters do as Rats direct and Brit goes this week, Joe gets front-doored next. Dan get's backdoored the week after and Jenn holds the solo spot as possible last minute upset. If she succeeds I completely expect Shane to fall on the writer's sword. F4 of Ian, Frank, Shane/Jenn and Danielle. And if any of the remaining are worth any iota of the wreck that is BB14, Rats will insure Ian does not make it to F2. I'm calling a Frank versus Danielle finale. (All the more reason why I should just stop watching NOW.) Danielle doesn't win and oddly enough fades into obscurity as one of BB's most worthless players, while Frank secures the adoration of BBfans as the man who never got to make a vote and yet received the votes in the end. (Yes, they will completely glide over that 1 vote of Frank's for....who was it again?)

Hey, don't get me wrong, they wanted the returnees to stay. At least initially. But then Boogie decided to adlib, getting Janelle booted, and a new script was created.

Last night, Britney took out her frustrations on Ted. She hit, kicked, pummeled, threw, elbow-dropped, strangled, denuded, and just generally beat the non-living crap out of him. As Ted is incapable of suing CBS over the damage to his personal well-being, the rats kept quiet about it. Britney's not in a good mood: the vote sales of Shane and Joe appear to be finalized and Ian seems to be her only dissenting ballot, plus Danielle's crying is starting to seem a little too fake. Britney has been played, and the next question turns to how she intends to get revenge.Ian is actually in hotter water right now. He was talking about how long he's been waiting to be on the show and in doing so, used the World Trade Center as a very casual time reference. This came off as being extraordinarily disrespectful in Jenn's eyes: she's a native New Yorker and felt that Ian's use of the event as a mere calendar divider was unforgivable. She has been resisting the urge to treat him as Ted II for most of the night, initially verbally blasting him, then deciding she was going to kill him, followed by going into isolation so she could pray that she wouldn't. The usual retells and distortions followed, and Ian is currently in trouble with most of the cage. Same status report, different reason. This means Thursday really brings up the question of Ian's edit. If Grodner is trying to protect him, either none of this makes the air or he gets a chance to explain what he meant. Put it on network without a defining DR session and he's Dead Student Walking. Grodner likes Frank best.

I really hope somehow Brit does stay, she is by far the most entertaining person in that house. Her sarcasm is top notch. I LOVED her goodbye message to boogie, doesn't get much better than that.

I just bet it has something to do with having a famous dad. I am sure Frank will pop up on a whole host of other reality shows after this, maybe even with his dad. Just my guess.

LAST EDITED ON 08-30-12 AT 08:00 AM (EST)It's against her nature, but it's happening: she knows where the votes are (and how much they were sold for) and isn't bothering to campaign. She's also abandoned her Danielle babysitting duties, meaning a certain not-teacher now only has four people continually trying to manipulate her. How will she ever survive? The hamsters have persisted on singing in the sure confidence that the show can't afford to recast right now, leading to a huge number of fish-outs up to the point where the rats threw it all away and locked the cameras on Joe, who was taking a safe and silent nap. Expect something big for the HoH competition -- the cage was on indoor lockdown all day yesterday, so the backyard is probably a construction zone. We might be at endurance again. I'm not sure how much more of this we can endure.

I never know where to ask these questions. Is there enough from the Live Feeds to know that it's definitely Brit going? Votes: Jenn votes to boot Brit Dan votes to boot Brit Ian votes to boot Dani Where do Shane and Joe stand? Perhaps Shane more importantly. Does he vote out Brit or Dani?
