I was focused on the point Brownroach made about the multiple challenges, in my response...even if I forget to mention it sometimes, I always appreciate your insightfulness! We still have lots of time to figure out if this challenge occurs in EP2 or beyond, so keep your eyes open for other shots of Joanna with the aqua top and Daniels bright blue shorts... the context in which we find them will help us place these as well. I checked the clothing list and none of the men are yet identified as having neon blue shorts, but I do think this person is Daniel from his build. And I don't see Janet either. "Where's Ryan" challenge may be Ep 2 but this looks like Ep 3, with 7 left on each tribe. Janet goes in Ep 2?   Top

We have now seen vidcaps from three different challenges. If this new challenge is from the EP2 RC then Janet is either cropped out of these shots because she is lagging behind or she may be sitting out because the men will be down to 7 in EP2. If this challenge is from EP3, we would have to conclude she was voted out in EP2. So, which is it? Krautboy   Top

If this EP2 I would say Janet is sitting out. However, since the premier is 90 mins will they show more than one challenge? It seems that we have been shown 3 different challenges. From other information I want to guess that Janet is just sitting out the challenge. I believe the men will be the first 2 to TC. But we also have the other TC pic thread from webby. It is hard to conclude if it is the men or the women. I would think that would be 2 or 3 TC since the people are carrying lit torches.   Top

LAST EDITED ON 02-07-03 AT 03:21 PM (EST) Yeah, Kb -- I was agreeing with jkokoj when I said "And I don't see Janet either" -- give credit where due! These look like arrival shots, though. (I keep hearing the pre-rumble music from West Side Story when I look at these: "Tam-ba-qui's gonna have its way, to-ni-i-iiiight / Jaburu's gonna make 'em pay, to-ni-i-iiight...") Janet would have to show up even if she were gonna sit out, so I don't think we can infer a sit-out from this. And she'd have to be pretty far away from them if she were cropped out of the frame. Not really liking that theory either.   Top

If Janet is gone, then the comment on Jeffy's latest interview about asking the men about hot chicks and the women about hot guys may be insightful. He got to ask them that very early, both groups that is, before they got to intermingle very much either in challenges or due to a merge/switch? But since my spoiling abilities pale in comparison to you guys, I may be way off base? It is astonishing how foolish humans can be in groups, especially when they follow their leaders without question - States: The Bene Gesserit View. All States Are an Abstraction.   Top

Not sure what it means, but in the last cap, Rob and Daniel have the same kind of containers that Jeanne has hanging from her neck in Cap 3 (and Joanna has one at her left side in Cap 1). They must have been instructed to bring these with them. these are water canteens, everyone has one. Here's a shot of the men filling their canteens from one of the water jugs. It's doubtful that the canteens are needed to participate in a challenge, but just to keep everyone hydrated. What intrigues me is these pic's of the men's tribe. I also believe his information is only as accurate as the memory of his source. It's very possible that the source remembered general information and merely identified the first 4 boots, but wasn't clear on the order. Even if the boot order is Ryan, Janet, Daniel and Joanne, we would be foolish not to carefully re-read ChillOne's posts... Q; You make a very good observation about JP's TC comments...it's obvious that both tribes go to TC before the merge and before too many of the hotties are voted out, but I'm not sure we can read much more into his comments than that...
