Thread ***" Just in case the re-crap episode has some spoiler material in it, I'll remind everyone of the usual rules: SurvivorBlows.com provides this thread as a service to two groups of people: 1) People who want to post and read about the episode as it is being telecast across the various time zones. If you can't wait for the show to appear in your time zone, read the 'East Coast Spoiler Thread' for an on-the-fly commentary. 2) Those people who want to access other posts on the Spoiler/Speculation board but do not want to see spoilers before the show is telecast in their timezone. Please do not post any commentary about the episodes as they are telecast in threads other than this one. Everyone is welcome to post on this thread! I didn't get any impression that anyone in particular was redeemed. However, when it comes to face time, SEAN really got a lot of camera time... from the radio show rehash to the rehash of his agreement with John (during the time of the Rob "stupid written on my forehead", they made a POINT to show Sean and John shake hands), to the Vee apology scene, to him at the very end talking about how John was ousted. Yes, we saw a LOT of Sean tonight. I am not sure what that means, though... he may be the next bootee, or he may become the integral focus of the game for the next several shows... *** Contradictions don't exist. "What was left out important" I think what they edited out is as important as what they showed. Take Kathy- she is shown getting the tribe to get serious about fire, they show her finding food ( hey they cooked it, that was new *rolls eyes*) when John came in from the water needing help, she was shown running to his aid. They failed to shown her bitchier moments, they didn't show Gabe explaining how he felt she wasn't a part of the Love tribe. ( oh and very little emphasis on Love Tribe) We originally saw her as the tribe outcast, Tonight she was edited as the real Leader, The MOM, (the Tina?) Even when they showed her on Marrannu, the scenes with Gina were touching, she was kind, even the way they showed her voting for Gina. The Maze challenge was shown as Rob's victory for Rotu. Kathy misleading them and getting lost was not shown at all. Kathy named the new tribe, she painted the flag. Not one bad moment, not one stupid word shown. A different thought of what wasn't shown, we never saw Pappy's initial alliance with John, no hint of his conversation with John.. It wasn't talked about at all when the new 5 ( no zoe?) were shown The alliance was shown as tight, even what Neleh siad about wanting to be with Sean and Vee. Vee was barely shown, and I don't think they showed her say anything ( no talk of drama) until we saw the actual forming of the Alliance. Thought it interesting that it was V & S talking to P & N, not Kathy. I agree that Sean was about to spill the plan, " we are voting John out tonight.... ( and then?) And Zoe is still invisible. Was there a confessional from her at all?? Did she say anything except the occasional "right on" and High Five? She and Kathy? The Moms of Rotu alliance? WHY did we not see their close friendship when they were both Rotu, did we hear anything about it til she told Rob her and Zoe were close? Our final 2???? Was her vote for John purposely hid? Sure looks that way now. Just some random thoughts about the way the recap was edited, what they chose to hightlight, and what they left out. Didn't want to start a new thresd, but maybe somebody else has some thoughts.   Top

Did they even show Hunter's boot, or did I blink during that one? Except for Sean's lameass attempt to perpetuate the radio show crap (thinking One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, after Jack Nicholson gets his lobotomy and the real loons try to fill his role) and the voodoo doll abuse, there really wasn't much worth watching for. All I kept thinking was "Yeah--but this person is already GONE! What about the REST of them?! Where's the redemption? Where's the foreshadowing?! Where's that wasted hour of my life?!!" That whole coffee in Alaska chat? That had better have been some major misdirection, cuz if Kathy winds up winning this thing she will be a bigger turn-off than Dique (or Kim J. coasting into the #2 spot thanks to Ethan.) Ack. Flashes of it when she "found food" for the Rotus, as that's one of the times I thought she was begging to be kept on. But nothing really bad, and there was that whole thing about Gina's restaurant in Alaska. What's up with that? Don't know if this is redeeming enough to mean she is ready to get the boot. But it wouldn't surprise me too much. What if the peas in the pod are indeed Paschal and Sean, and while they're at their little luau, they realize that Kathy is indeed taking charge? To the masses, a Kathy boot might seem like a very surprising turn. Just as she takes control, it's taken from her again. In fact, around here we've seen a Kathy love fest of late, with many predicting she's in for the long haul. A Neleh/Paschal/Sean/Vee block would be mighty hard to stop. Take out Kathy with the help of Robert and Tammy, then pick off Robert, Tammy and Zoe at your leisure as the show plods along...   Top

The comment about the Alaska cafe was certainly something people will say... OH Kathy MUST Win... and she might, but it might just be setting her up in a really nice light because she is leaving very soon. In fact the one thing I thought was interesting in the whole NuMu-5 was where Kathy was at. She was definately outside of the circle, knowing how paraniod she has become in the past it might be enough for someone to pry her away at some point (or get her booted). -ICB   Top

LOL last I counted it was 5-4 against which in my book isnt exactly even odds. Now it would have been the last time they had an advantage, and the Rotu-4 deserved what they got... but still it was a little bit "pot calling the kettle black"-ish IMO. -ICB   Top

After wasting an hour out of all of our lives, I think we didn't get much spoiler value in the first 53 minutes. We got Kathy saying she will help Gina buy that cabin. IMO, I believe Kathy thinks it is a good business venture, and they will combine their winnings (Hunter may even join in) and open up the cabin resturant. The only thing that may be of any spoiler value is the misfits alliance may in fact be more of an alliance than we thought they were. They seemed very tight nit, and it seems that they have more than just Johnny baby in their eye's (Bad news for at least Tammy, if not Robert and Zoe also). Sean got an amazing amount of face time, which either points to his upcoming boot, or the simple fact that he is the most entertaining character of the season (yes, more than the Robfawduh). Kathy seemed to be shown in a positive light, which may also point to her boot, or a change in character that MB thought was needed for the long haul. With what I got out of the episode (and the "foreign preview" that finally aired in the states) this is going to be an unpredictable episode, with the exception of the boot. Tammy loses the immunity challenge (surprise to some, not to others) and joins John in the jury, making the "Cruise Ship Spoiler" somewhat accurate (even though it has been admitted to be false). BUD SELIG SUCKS!!!! SAVE THE TWINS!!!   Top

If anything, ratings have gone down because of the "nice guy" winners the last two seasons (and very boring game play, to be sure). When Rich won in S1, there was no redemption. None was needed. Why redeem the winner? The fact that they win is redemption enough for just about anyone - even Dicque. I don't know if this points to a Kathy boot yet, but I think the time is ripe now, especially since everyone seems to be speculating on a Kathy win at this point...   Top

These people therefore believe that Kathy is surely not the winner. While I'm not yet ready to stake a claim that she wins, I must disagree with those naysayers. 1. I'm the only one I know that is as into Survivor as myself. I have no friends or family who search the net for info, spoil, or do anything more that watch it and talk about it at work. I haven't heard one of them say they think Kathy is going to win. Most think that Neleh & Pascal are now up for winning it all. Some say Sean. Remember, Spoilers are only a very small fraction of viewership. 2. A lot of people still don't like Kathy and are making their logic fit that she can't win. There is some pretty far fetched logic around here about how Kathy will soon be voted out. Edited to add: I just went and sat in the Survivor Official Site main chat room to see what all the "general fans (and CBS plants I'm sure)" were thinking. Main things: Two people think she and Kathy have an alliance. Robert will win because he's been nice to everyone & has played fair. Tammy or Zoe is going tonight is the most popular chat item. Otherwise it's talk about Neleh being hot/ugly & Zoe being ugly. So, everyone does not think Kathy will win. The only "winner" talk I heard was Robert and Neleh.   Top
