Ok folks, I'm gonna make an attemt to rule out some of the contestants.. Ha Ha Shakes, I found my EW magazine, (it was in the bathroom!) There are a few more pictures than the one of the whole cast. Since I don't know how to post them, I hope you'll take my word for it, or check EW issue #572 dated December 8, 2000. The article starts on page 49.. On page 50, there are 3 pictures. 1. picture of ship, no help. 2. Picture of host, and "cast member" #2 from Icecats close-ups. I don't believe Shakes could be # 2 because he is not identified by name in the pic.(more on this in a minute) 3. Picture of contestants dining, no one is identified by name, but it is a bad picture mostly of the contestants backs. On page 52, there are 3 more pictures. 1. Picture of contestant #6, dancing with 2 women. Not identified by name. 2. Picture of contestants, male and female, mud wrestling, the men are hard to make out, and no contestant is identified. 3. Picture of contestants line dancing.. now this is where I think we can eliminate some people.. the caption says "line dancing(with Toni, center, and Anthony, far right." Toni(female), and Anthony(this pic is hard for me to identify positively, but I am fairly sure it is #4) are identified, I believe, because they are both quoted for the article.(contestant #7 is prominantly featured in this picture, but is not identified by name) The only other contestant quoted, was Michael (aka Shakes) Now , if he was featured in a photo, I think he would have been identified also. Oooo.. my head is spinning faster than the clowns! I think I can safely eliminate #2,4,6,and 7. I also eliminate #3, because of the hair, and Shakes making fun of Icecats locks. That leaves #1, 5, and 8. I hope this helps narrow it down some. p.s. I know Shakes can confirm that these pictures exist. A good media whore would surely keep this issue.

Well now...I posted my guess as #1, and I have dissed #5 & 8. May I officially back-peddle here and state that I am sure that #5 & 8 are very handsome, sexy men (and apparently twins separated at birth) and that this photo most certainly does not do them justice (#5 is no doubt standing in a hole) and that any previous mention of "geekiness" in connection with these contestants was said with my well-known far-too-subtle sarcasm and of course actually meant "studly eye-candy". dangerkitty

I need to add, the picture with the contestants dining does include someone who could be # 5 or # 8, I'm leaning toward it being #5, but it is in profile, and not very clear. I can clearly identify #2 in the background, and #7 (hard to confuse the short blond hair) Sorry to confuse things.

I love it....Survivor is long over, and there's still some vidcaps to analyze!I think that an important thing to think about is what Shakes the Clown has told us about himself. He is thirty years old, and a lawyer. Being a lawyer is not that important of a clue, but being 30 definitely is. Who in this picture can be eliminated from contention based on their age? I submit that number 5 definitely looks younger than 30...and, if I was to hazard a guess, number 4 and number 7 look younger as well. I think it is safe to eliminate these 3 from the possibilities. Of the other 5, which could, most likely, be Shakes the Clown? He does spend a lot of time on here, yes, but has also stated that he came here specifically so that, when his show aired, he could write favorable summaries concerning himself. As well, I am sure that these guys (and girls) are all a little nuts, anyways, based on the fact that they signed on for this event. Shakes is articulate, and his ability to flame others is nearly unparalleled. All part of being a lawyer; the question is, could he use this ability for good as well as evil? Definitely...I don't know the premise of the show, but my guess is that it is a group of singles all travelling together. When was the picture taken? And why did Shakes show it to us? A couple more questions that need some answers...would he willfully show us a picture that showed him in a bad light? Possibly...who knows what twisted mechanics run in the brain of the clown? My guess? Bachelor number 2. He is the one in the most positive light in the picture of the old 'uns. My 2 cents...well, a cent and a half american ;p Leave a message after the *tone*

Good point, sleeeve, I had thought of that also. I actually was avoiding using that info to make my decision, though, because: a)I figured the photo doesn't necessarily give a real accurate idea of their attractiveness, b) I felt it might be too rude to say "Well, this guy is geeky, so it must be you since no one wanted you" (but hey, this is Shakes, why should I worry? , and c) the reason he wasn't chosen might have been that he managed to piss them all off right away. I have no idea why that might have happened, but anything is possible. ;)But since you asked....based just on this picture and appearance, the guy I would be least likely to choose is #5. He looks a little geeky and short to me (but its pretty blurry, so he might be cuter). My initial reaction was to say #3, the Michael Bolton-hair guy, but upon closer inspection he's not that bad and he has a great smile, looks like a fun guy.

We know that he's 30(ish) and that still makes him a semi"baby" lawyer. #5 has that "have you been in an auto accident? Do you want to sue the pants off of someone? Well, I can help." kinda look about him. Someone who's socially adept enough to know all the right people (both sides of a case), judges and the like, but still have the slightly smarmy "I can play dirty if need be" attitude about him.
So, all said, I'm going with #5.

...VK, I met some guy named van Helsing, or something like that. He was telling me all kinds of weird things about you, involving mirrors and garlic and wooden steaks. I told him that I only like steaks that came from animals, not from trees, and I didn't want to cook them with garlic. Then he got frustrated and walked away. Should I pay any attention to him?

I am going to go with #1. He has that pit bull, yankee lawyer look to him. I agree with Kira in that he does look like Joey from Friends. Maybe that's why I get a 'Chicago Italian' feel for #1. Want to see a real stretch: Shakes is the only other person in chat besides myself who doesn't watch/obsess over 'The Sopranos'. Aren't the Italian people all upset over the way that show portrays them? According to the Daily Show(on Comedy Central), A Senator is trying to get it banned. You just know she's hired a lawyer.... How did I miss this thread?OK, I think it is one of the following: #3 has the hair (check the clown icon)! But is too happy IMO so he's out.
#2 is possible but seems too preppie
#5 is possible but something seems wrong - looks to be an outcast, but I could be wrong
#8 is most likely but only because the smile seems to say, "what have I gotten myself into?" Got to be 8 or 5?

OK - I'm well aware that nobody cares about this anymore, but I have some information that might help you guys out. I am still thoroughly convinced that Shakes the Clown is #3 in the above picture for the previously stated reasons. However, the "Endless Love" clue could be interpreted in numerous ways. -movie by Franco Zeffirelli (Shakes is Italian?)
-movie 1981 (Shakes is not really 30, but was born in 1981)
-movie with Brooke Shields
(Shakes is the guy with his arm around the girl who looks most like Brooke Shields)
-song - sung in the movie by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross and later by Whitney Houston -all of them are black
(Shakes is black)
-song score composed by Jonathan Tunick (This tells us nothing about Shakes)
-song lyrics: You're every breath that I take You're every step I make
(Shakes is the guy in the photo with one foot in front of the other)
-song lyrics: Two hearts, two hearts that beat as one
(Shakes has two hearts on his shirt)
-song lyrics: Forever, I'll hold you close in my arms

Chick-You may not have been around long enough to realize this, so I will give a very brief history lesson... As S2 neared an end, shakes realized that numerous people on this board would be leaving for the off-season, so he teased that he had a huge announcement to make about what his real identity was. He said that he would have a press conference (in one of the chat rooms), but before the press conference, he would give us three clues as to who he really was, to help the spoilers try to figure it out... this really sent our board into chaos, as many people lost sleep trying to guess who shakes was, and coming up with numerous theories... One by one, the clues were released, and with each, our board's guesses got more and more obscure... theories ranged from the secret identity of other posters (ie: AyaK's alter-ego) to the famous (ie: Ben Stein), to dead celebrities! As you know, it turned out that he announced that he is a contestant on Fox's Love Cruise... although he still has not revealed which contestant he is. The (lame) clues were: 1) LC (short for Love Cruise) 2) Endless Love (a very early Tom Cruise flick) 3) Vanessa Williams and Oz (Her boyfriend, Rick Fox is a recurring character on HBO's Oz)... Only one person on the boards correctly guessed his identity
Anyway, I think that shakes is kidding this time, with the clues... They caused such a huge uproar on the boards the first time, that I think he's just trying to mess with us...
You never know what might be up my sleeeve...
