PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

I can't believe that they intentionally made a 3 episode show. Do you think they were trying to get a bunch of reality-type shows taped when the strike was looming? And then when it didn't they just "LOST" interest? or did they have 10 shows worth of footage but realized more people were watching AR and just edited it down? What were they thinking with just 3 pretty boring teams? Why was the supposedly non-gay guy the one always crying?

1. "Other board" |
Hi, Wolffy. I'm going to leave this thread here for now (to give you a chance to see this reply), and then I'm going to move it into the "Other Shows" forum, which is where we talked about Lost. And, since you ask.... Lost was filmed as a SIX-episode show, with two different groups of three couples each getting lost (in different places); there were three episodes devoted to each set of couples. NBC decided to cancel the show without ever showing the second set of three couples. The shows will air on the Travel Network (no kidding) instead, but I don't believe air dates have been set (I'll guess they air during November sweeps --- how often does the Travel Network get to debut unaired episodes of a network series?). And, yes, I believe that Lost, like Love Cruise, was made to be aired during the writers' strike that never materialized ... which is why the networks have treated their air dates so cavalierly.

Man, did that show suck. 3 episodes! And most of the time you couldn't tell where everyone was at. Doing that show was a total waste of time.JM

"Lost" did not work for a couple of reasons: a) the contestants were idiots. That gay guy who sounded like Harvey Fierstein was a total #####, and his partner was lame-brained, and Celeste has the IQ of a pea. b) the game gets too easy once they reach civilization, even if you have very little money it's not so hard to get cheap flights. You stop caring when the last leg of the race is a 10,000 mile plane ride. There should have been one simple rule: NO AIR TRAVEL... oh, and whoring yourself is allowed and encouraged...
