until I moved to the midwest. The only Danas I knew in New England were boys. Here in Ohio it seems to be a girl's name (often named after a father named Daniel, but the parents thought Danielle had been done to death). As for famous people: Dana Andrews and Dana Carvey - both men Queen Latifa's real name is Dana, but she was born after 1970. As soon as the baby stealing story started coming out, I figured the writers used a both-gender name on purpose to confuse the viewers (much like when they named the baby Jamie on 'Malcolm in the Middle' and didn't refer to him as a boy for 3 or 4 episodes)
