The biggest thing that stuck out for me was the disparity in the semi-final fields between Tuesday and Wednesday night. Last night's field was MUCH stronger than Tuesday's. Pretty much everyone left me flat on Tuesday. I would've rather seen Dan Ahdoot and Monty over Ant and Corey, but none of them were spectacular.
As for Wednesday, the only one who really got jobbed was Dan Naturman. DC Benny disappointed. I've seen him on Comedy Central a couple times, and he's always made me laugh. Not last night, though. He knew he bombed, too. Sue Costello was awful, and I still don't think Marina has an act. She's just good at impressions. There's room for material there, and I kept expecting her to finish off her bits, but she never did. That, to me, is proof that she's still really green.
John Heffron was very good, as were Jay and (surprisingly, IMO) Tammy. Alonzo wasn't as good last night as he was earlier in the competition, but I was glad to see him make it.
However, it should've been Dan Naturman over Todd Glass. It's obvious that they picked Todd because they think he'll make for better TV with all of his hyperactivity. That's disappointing, because he's been really sloppy everytime he's been on stage so far.
Dan's bits about the gift certificate and the jukebox were exceptional. He should've been picked for the house. However, he did himself a disservice by acting like such a complete baby about the results.
