Very nice post, VG. I haven't had a chance to revisit the topic since my last post, nice to see your thoughts and the other posts.I do admire strategic quality very much, and Kim has that.
OTOH, she's not entertaining, so as the season progresses I feel like is this all there Is? We get a primer on how to play Survivor with a bunch of knuckleheads and sheep? Again, only this time the instructor is a woman?
It's another case of a season where there's one truly strategic person. I want to see a strategizer pitted against some one of equal ability. If she were, I don't think she would be that good, any more than Brenda was all that. (Kim is far better than Brenda though.)
The season would be more interesting if they took her out.
Why did we love Marquesas? Because John and his alliance were running the game, and the underdogs turned and took them out. Where's the Resistance? A good story needs that. If Troy goes, it's bland.
I'm not unhappy to see a group of women dominate because they're women. I'm a woman. I'm not interested in THESE women.
I don't remember Brian Heidik being disgusting within the filiming. He played a clean game, actually, up until the point he blindsided Helen and took Clay. He turned out to be a really despicable guy outside the game, and I'm sure that Kim is quite a nice person outside the game.
That said, I don't love it when people win Survivor by lying to everyone's face.
