We're switching tribes." Everyone shocked. Jeff sees shocked faces. Marty has shocked hair. Jud: everything now up in the air. Draw rocks for captains. Jud having trouble with the complicated rules of this game. Brenda and Holly are capts. Brenda chooses 3 people from older, HOlly picks 4 from younger, to even things up. Jane, Jill, and Marty join younger tribe, Alina, Benry, Chase, and Na join older tribe. Everybody MOVE {/Fezzik} Old vs. young, done. Medallion of POWER! -er -er -er! is done. Na: I'll miss my old tribe. Marty: good to be with winning tribe. Challenge for reward. Plinko variation, with balls. Gotta catch balls, or other group gets point. Playing for 2 chickens and rooster. (um, you just got toasted in challenges. what a dynamic.) At least we have good looking girls here. Tyrone becomes leader, starts telling people what to do. Younger tribe doesn't like this. Holly says Chase and Alina reminds her of her kids. She relates well with them. Hopes to keep them on her side. (Here's a clue: don't bury their shoes. Just a thought.) She even forms a connction with Na-zilla. Who'd a thunk it. Na: I'm going to go with the numbers. Alina and I's relationship has changed a whole bunch. (Yes, she just said "I's." Let's hear it for PE teachers!) Jud: the ole' switcheroo. I was dreading it, but it was pretty right-on. We're all super cool. (Far out. Righteous dude) Mammy: these kids are more relaxed. mah old tribe was all about schedule, schedule. I really lahk these keeds. I woulda voted out Marty and Jill a long time ago. Jud tells Marty about the wrestling, and the clue not-sharing. Jud: we're the young tribe. we don't know what we're doing. Marty instructs them on how to play the game. And he then whips it out and shows everyone. (Talking about the idol. heh.) Brenda: Marty is soooo arrogant. He just whipped it out, no b.s. and was sitting there, like "wow. so impressed." He has a lot of balls. (still talking about the idol. heh double heh.)   Top

Alina says bonded in a different way from being wet. Immunity up for grabs. Three strapped to a wheel that submerges you under water. Fill mouth with water spit out until balls a released. (Also, when she's warm, and even when she's tepid. But that' beside the point.) Alina: Na is like a HS girl--irrational, like she's on her period all the time. (!) If she wants to go home, that's better for me. Na complains about the cold, Alina comforts her. Na starts talking about wanting to leave. Alina and Chase tell her she will regret this the rest of her life. "Just a little storm. We'll be all right." Chase tells story of day his dad died, thought he saw a rainbow in back of his truck during a rain storm. Dramatic music accompanies. "We'll make it through this." Na complains through the night. Immunity Challenge. Marty: easy to feel comradery when you're in the taj mahal of camp. Jane: Ah feel GREAT. Alina: we bonded because of the rain. Challenge: 3 members will be strapped to wheel, submerged (while wheel spins), get mouthful of water, fill tall glass thingy to release a ball. Use balls to break tiles. First to 5 tiles wins. Girls are on wheels, spinned by guys (and Na). Learning curve. LaFlor moves twice as fast as Espada. Espada going slow on purpose--different strategy. Espada has lead, releases ball. Tyrone and Benry breaking tiles for Espada Tyrone 1-0. Jud & Jane for La Flor. La Flor takes lead. 4-3. Benry ties up. Fabio wins it for La Flor.   Top

I don't care--I really want to go home. I'm over it. They discuss eating a chicken. Tyrone doesn't want to cut down on their one-egg a day production. Holly: we should stand up to Tyrone. They vote to kill the chicken. Tyrone: Not what I wanted, but I don't want to rock the boat right now. Wouldn't be smart. Holly notices that Tyrone doesn't help cleaning and boning, but sure helped with the eating. Benry also notices that Tyrone gets more chicken than rest of tribe, he's becoming more and more obnoxious by the day. Adds: he could help us in challenges, but he's not the easiest person to get along with. Worried that Na isn't there mentaly right now. (Right now? She hasn't been there mentally the WHOLE GAME!) Eve and Alina talk about keeping the tribe strong--want to send Na home. Alina: myself, Chase, Benry, and Holly--we're in control of this game. I'll see what everyone else wants to do.   Top

Alina: Nights are tough, really rainy, drenched and cold. NaOnka: Last night I was freezing and shaking, didn't think it would be this difficult. Divorce hardest thing before now. Have a support here. She was talking about wanting to quit and being at the breaking point. Benry: Confused by Jeff (She wants to go, so do people go with compassion or competitive). We're on Espada's turf, have to go with their rules. Benry: Tyrone is the boss man, he's assertive. Tyrone: Being the leader is huge responsibility. I'm qualified and happy to be leader. I take input from others. Turf wars? news to me. Alina: Tyrone gave us a speech when we came to camp. I felt like a child. Ty: I didn't intend to lay down law. Maybe that's the generation gap. Alina: Nights have been toughest. EVeryone was drenched, cold. Na: OMG, I was freezing. Never thought it would be this tough. Up til now, getting a divorce at 26 was toughest. I was one to mess it up. I couldn't shield myself then, but here I have a support system. Jeff: you get more love from strangers competing? Na: It was. They helped me through it. I wanted to quit, I was at my breaking point. Jeff challenges the tribe about wanting to keep someone who wants to quit. Eve: I want longevity with these people. Jeff: weren't you thinking about the game? Na: I don't know. There are smart people on this team--they know when to talk and when to shut up. (what the heck does that mean?) As for the twist, I guess double-boot if they aren,t playing for tribal immunity. BTW, I don't remember reading anything about Marty being a grand master in his pre-seasom bio and I've never seen his name in news about chess tournaments. Is he really? If so, why reveal it?   Top

Meanwhile, NaOnka who wants to quit/everybody hates and Dan with the bad knee are both still in the game...go figure! Re Marty: I agree -- don't think he's a Grandmaster. That would have come out by now, and I just tried to look up his rating on the USCF web site and he's not listed. Plus we know from last week's Insider Clips that he lied to his tribe about his job to make it look like he really needs the $, so wouldn't be surprised if he lied again....but funny that he picks Jud of all people to try to impress...don't think it's going to work. Glad the MOP is gone. Hope they don't bring it back again ever! So was Yve the 2nd vote for Nay? Interesting if she was out of the loop. Dan and Holly definitely voted for Tyrone so I think it must have been her. P.S. I'm a city girl, but shouldn't they have cooked the rooster instead of the hen if they wanted eggs? The rooster is totally unnecessary for egg production. I had a chicken adopt my carport (a wild chicken), and it laid an egg or so every day, even though the nearest rooster was a mile away. Roosters are only necessary to fertilize eggs so that they hatch into little chickens, but the chickens just keep making eggs whatever. My poor chicken brooded over an unfertilized egg for like two weeks, she had no clue why it wouldn't hatch. Not the brightest bulbs. I didn't realize until tonight just how crappy the Espada shelter was as far as the place they sited it. So the young people put together an altogether superior camp while remaining "chill."
