I agree. It would be much more upsetting to see someone with a "serious injury" evacuated compared to Jonathan's stitches getting infected. If it were Chet we'd probably have seen some reference to his injured foot already.

Thanks for the info, KO!I have been worried about Jonathan. I live in the tropics and know how nasty and fast-moving those infections can be. People not only lose limbs; they can go septic and die. I am really angry at SEG for designing challenges that can hurt people and expose them to aggressive infections just for entertainment value. Look how bad Colleen's legs got in a season when challenges were simple. That was before the superbug (MRSA) crisis. We don't know yet if Jonathan got MRSA but that's a likely candidate, that or vibrio. They should tone down the injury potential in areas where they have control ... such as challenges.

Here, here, OFG, I am in agreement. I am very angry at CBS and SEG for allowing these BRUTAL challenges to go on....they are way over the top and it infuriates me that these poor Survivors are trying their best, and have to leave the game due to injury like this....it stinks! Just not fair...

hear hear Flowerpower! Passionately said! What makes it worse IMO is that Jeff is spinning the injuries as a "story" of the season that we will see unfolding. As it it's a memorable aspect of the season that it had brutal challenges, injuries, and medivacs. Yeah, I can go rent Ben Hur or Braveheart or Gladiator if I want that kind of brutality... even on Big Brother they had a hospitalization because they put someone with documented hypoglycemia on an all slop diet and she began seizing and passed out. The sadism needs to stop; there are other ways to provide must see TV!

How ironic if it is Eliza after her quote about hating everyone and wishing they'd get sick and have to leave the game. Another reason that it makes sense for it to be about Jonathan. We've seen the storyline about people being sick and about Eliza wishing it on her fellow favorites. We've gotten in previews for E5 that Jonathan is going to get hurt. There's been practically nothing recent about Kathy's mental state. We got the crazy lady comments early and saw her tear up when she got sent to EI again, but that story has to get cranked up again before she departs.

The insider clips of Eliza, give more insight into her 'hating everyone' and she includes Jonathan on her hate list because she thinks he's so bossy. The only favorite she likes is Ami. Here are the transcripts from that portion of the video clip: ------------------------- Eliza (confessional): The way you see our tribe work together and we'll all be smiling and look like we love each other is pretty much crap. We do not all love each other, at least speaking for myself. I personally hate almost every person out here. (shot of Amanda) Amanda is just boring, dull, pageant. (waves a hand over her face) Hello, is anyone in there? (shot of Ozzy) Ozzy has this kind of attitude. He's good in swimming challenges, I'll give him that, but does that make him God? (shot of James) No. James is so irritating. He pretends he's this Southern gentleman, but he's this complete misogynistic pig. (shot of Cirie) And then Cirie, she's PMSing, so she say that's why she's being a royal ##### right now. (shot of Parvati laying on the beach, flirting with James) And Parvati's always flirting with James. It makes me want to vomit. (shot of Jonathan telling Eliza what to do with the fire) And then Jonathan is bossy. So Ami is the only one I really like. I can't express that to them because if I did, they'd be even more inclined to vote me out, and I don't need to give them any more reason. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for something that will save me, or just for us to keep winning immunity. ---------------------------

17. "RC = Airai?" |
We're shown in the previews that Jason gets himself a fake immunity idol - goody for him (or so he thinks). That makes me think Airai wins RC, and Jason volunteers to go to EI. After seeing Joel gone, he can read the writing on the wall - strong Favorites are targets. He's probably going to need the idol to save himself at some point. His own tribe would be more than willing to let him go. James would be able to laugh over Jason trying to find a fake idol, fufilling Jeff's quotes about James enjoying someone else making a bigger blunder than James had. Parvati would be willing to let him go, knowing the real idol is gone, and Kathy would be thrilled that it's someone besides her. Yes, Ozzy and Amanda know that there would be no harm in letting a strong Favorite go idol hunting - in fact, they'd probably encourage it. But it would look suspicious for them to suddenly nominate anyone other than Kathy for EI after she's been chosen every single time they've had a chance to choose. Since Ozzy's already been to EI, someone could put 2 and 2 together and get 4. So, Jason is the one that spoilers say gets it "Jaime-style".

But there is still plenty of time for them to show us that part of the story, it won't happen til after the first 2 merge boots so that gives us 5 episodes for the story to develop. Amanda knew of James idol, Amanda knowing that ozzy has the idol is not a good thing once the women decide it is time to flip the script. If there are still Fans in the game and the Faves have the advantage and the women have the majority, ozzy had best be playing his idol. He has already said he "thinks" he can trust Amanda. The other way it could play out is that Amanda tells ozzy that he is the target and he talks to others and gets them to say they aren't voting for him, he tells Amanda, don't worry, I'm safe, he doesn't play the idol and then they do vote him out. Let's speculate! One tribe gets the answer it has been waiting for-will their tribemate recover from a devastating injury? Of course this is Airai and the answer is "Yes. Jonathan will recover but not without leaving the game first." It's a sad day indeed, when a player such as Jonathan must leave the game because of SeeBS negligence! One Castaway becomes the gullible victim of Ozzy's devious plan set in motion on Exile Island, ... we already saw in the previews, it was Jason. while another Castaway is injured, but surprisingly finds himself with more power than ever before. Could this be Chet?

I am onto a theory guys! I could be totally wrong and if I am don't laugh at me On the CBS website the preview clues say: One tribe gets the answer it has been waiting for-will their tribemate recover from a devastating injury? One Castaway becomes the gullible victim of Ozzy's devious plan set in motion on Exile Island while another Castaway is injured, but surprisingly finds himself with more power than ever before. Now tonight while BB was a promo aired that showed Jason, apparently coming back from Exile at to the challenge announcing to everyone that 'Ozzy has the idol'. Obviously those 2 bold statements do not reconcile. So, I start thinking really hard and here's what I think happens I think Jason finds the fake idol and he does think it's real. In his head and in the pre-show clips he is already setting himself up as the 2nd coming of Ozzy and wants to go toe-to-toe with him. Ok, so he thinks that if he comes back and tells everyone that Ozzy has the idol - Ozzy will become a big target and perhaps Malakal will try to flush the idol out at the very least. So he comes back from Exile to the challenge and Jeff asks him about it and he, like the punk he is, proclaims to EVERYONE that Ozzy has the idol - but secretly he believes that he has it. So he thinks he will be sending Ozzy to TC unprotected, but in fact he is the one that is unprotected. Ok, it's far fetched but it's all I got and if I'm right I think that the fake idol is the big blunder that happens, when Jason actually plays it and thinks it's the real deal.

LAST EDITED ON 03-10-08 AT 10:51 AM (EST)I'm not sure the announcement is at the challenge in front of everyone. That would take a lot of chutzpah on Jason's part. I don't think the point is to get Ozzy targeted, the point is to cover his a$$ with his own tribe. Jason knows that the next time someone from his tribe goes to Exile Island, if they come upon the idol's location the idol won't be there. So he's telling them Ozzy had already found it when he (Jason) was there. He doesn't want people to suspect he has the idol (which, ironically, he doesn't) and maybe force him to use it early. ETA: actually, Scarlett already said the same thing below.

See here is where I see yet another ozzy fan blinded by whatever it is that has drawn you to him. Jason may be a punk but not for calling out that he suspects that ozzy has the idol, that is sheer genius! (This is spec) Jason thinks that he has the hidden idol and believes it to be real. To get the scent off him he knows that ozzy is a big competitor in the game and was last on EI. By saying that he thinks ozzy has the idol (and he really doesn't think that ozzy has the idol) to the group, he is throwing the light off himself for the next person who goes there and finds the idol gone. That is just great game play and kudos for him finally doing something that is strategic, he at least is trying to play the game. In many ways it is just like last week when Probst asked ozzy how his trip to EI was and ozzy played dumb "it's alot harder to find the idol than I thought it would be", it is deception to get further. It is a game for a million dollars, I get the feeling from many ozzy fans on this board that you would like every one else to lay down and let him waltz his way to the money, sheesh. It's not a bad move for Jason, since: a) in his mind Jason has the idol, and therefore, b) Jason thinks that Ozzy can be voted out at any time without repercussions. The problem is...none of that is true. And "outing" Ozzy doesn't really serve any purpose, imo, since Jason doesn't know the dynamics on the other tribe. Jason may think that since they got rid of Joel they would get rid of Ozzy too, despite needing him for the challenges. But Ozzy is in the majority alliance and is unlikely to become a target anytime soon. So it's a nice try on Jason's part, but I don't see it as a great game move since it's based on a faulty supposition.

yes, it would be stealing. In China or Fiji (forget which), someone did find a stashed idol and was told by the camera crew they had to leave it alone. It was in an exit interview, not broadcast. Once it's taken from the place it's officially hidden, it can only be transferred if it's given away. The point of secrecy is to hide that you have the power of the idol. If anyone could ever keep their trap shut it would be an amazing surprise to play it and completely blow everyone out of the water. I've noticed with "flushing out the idol" it can only be done safely when you have the numbers to split the vote and cover a second target in case the idol gets played, so if a person were smart, they ought to keep the idol a secret until the numbers are such that your opponents won't pull the "flushing out" strategy on you. After that point, reveal the idol to keep your opponents in fear of your vote (or your alliance) deciding their fate.
