Damn, it's Tuesday already, isn't it? Bank holidays just mess me up. Okay, the usual copy and paste:THE RULES 1. Please put the name of your choice for this week's bootee IN THE SUBJECT HEADING! This is really easy. Just erase the bit where it says "Re: SurvivorBlows Tribe, It's Time to Vote!" and replace with your vote, i.e., Ghandia. This makes it easier to tally votes quickly and accurately. 2. Reply ONLY to this post! Curves on women are good. Curves on vote threads are bad. EXCEPTION TO RULE 2! VOTE CHANGES! If it just so happens that you wanna change your vote for whatever reason, REPLY TO YOUR ORIGINAL POST! Your new post heading should read "VOTE CHANGE: Clay (or Whoever)". 3. THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION THREAD! DO NOT TREAT IT AS SUCH! There are plenty of places on the Spoilers Forum to debate the merits of people's arguments. Let's keep it out of here, please.
4. No sig pics! It was suggested that because this can be such a long thread, sig pics make it really hard to load for folks with dial-up connections. So show some respect to your slower brethren (and sistren). Yup, I think that takes care of it. And hey, don't violate the rules just to try to get a spanking from Superman, okay? I know it's tempting, but... mmmm... Superman... but... what? Sorry. Carry on.

EVIDENCE THAT SOOK JAI GOES TO TRIBAL COUNCIL:Clay’s Comments: Clay was quoted as saying that Chuay Gahn would not be going back to TC for a while after Ghandia left. Sounds like the EP5 and EP6 boots are from Sook Jai. Snickers Spoiler:
The Snickers lady counted 5 or 6 torches in the Sook Jai camp between EP5 TC and EP6 TC, which indicates that one or two Sook Jai leave the tribe in EP5. One could switch (Steph), and one could be booted (Robb or Shii Ann). The luxury items of Steph and Robb could be an indication that they left their items behind when switching or being booted, or it could be as the result of both still being in the Sook Jai tribe and Shii Ann getting the boot in EP5. Gdiva’s Smoker Comments:
Ghandia is now at the loser lodge where she will be separated from the jury members. She got to know the smoking habits of Robb and Shi Ann, so we can conclude that at least two of the next three boots are Robb and Shii Ann. Snewser’s Boot List:
Snewser is well connected and his spoilers are usually reliable if he puts his stamp on it…Snewser reported that Stephanie is rumored to be a pre-jury boot… Weight Loss Spoilers:
Well documented reports of significant weight loss (25lbs. Or more) are a very reliable predictor of making it to the merge…all the remaining Chuay Gahn members have weight loss reports associated with them. Another indication that the Sook Jai go to TC… ROBB, STEPHANIE, OR SHII ANN…WHO GOES FIRST?
NOT ROBB:
Snickers Spoiler:
Robb’s skateboard seen in the Sook Jai camp after EP5 TC… while it’s not conclusive, it’s not contradictory either… EP6 "The Power of One”
"Also, one tribe becomes concerned about a teammate after the person exhibits bizarre behavior." This sounds like Robb to me, he has been the most emotional tribe member and after the stingray accident, they may be worried about him. “The Despondent Underdog”: After the Stingray accident, Robb could become despondent because the injury could make him less of a physical asset. His despondency could also lead to some bizarre behavior, which he has already exhibited. The point is that he is most likely still around after the EP5 TC. Robb is a prime candidate for a mercy boot in EP6, if his “bizarre behavior” makes the rest of his tribe uncomfortable. We’ll probably also see some character redemption next week for Robb…safe this week, probably gone next week. NOT STEPHANIE:
“Unlikely Tribemates” The teaser says "two unlikely tribemates forge a tentative alliance"...it's the tribemates that are unlikely, not the alliance. Robb and Shii Ann are very likely tribemates, because they are already on the same tribe. The "unlikely tribemates" must be refering to two new tribemates that are brought together by the switch...Jan and anyone on the Sook Jai or Stephanie and anyone on the Chuay Gahn would be examples of "unlikely tribemates"... Voluntary Switch:
As we have discussed, the most likely candidates for a voluntary switch are Jan and Stephanie; both have been edited as vulnerable in their respective tribes. If Stephanie switches to the Chuay Gahn tribe and Sook Jai goes to TC (as the evidence suggests) then Stephanie will be safe for a few weeks. CBS Eyemail: Stephanie is featured this week, which is more often than not an indicator that she is safe this week. Hair Alliance: Stephanie and Penny have recently both been wearing “French braids”, which may be an indication that Stephanie is not as much of an outsider as she has been edited to be. Snickers Spoiler: Stephanie’s fuzzy slippers seen in the Sook Jai camp after EP5 TC. While it’s not conclusive, it’s not contradictory either… Strategies revealed do not succeed:
Stephanie is the Red Herring this week, set up last week by Erin’s comments about "getting rid of some people." Stephanie, however, has never been mentioned by name, except when Shii Ann mentioned that “she hates us”. Edited as a vulnerable target, Stephanie will most likely be saved by the switch…while Shii Ann may be the real target. IT'S SHII ANN:
Shii Ann finds herself in between alliances. She’s the 5th wheel of the core alliance at Sook Jai. She’s created friction between her an Robb, and voted against Jed, leaving her on the outside with Robb and Stephanie as well. Shii Ann is the physically weakest member of her tribe. The editing has carefully been setting her up for a surprise departure from the game. The "she-devil" has already thrown a challenge to get rid of Jed, and referred to her tribemate Robb as the “idiot that he is”. Last week we saw the tables start to turn when her comments about the “no squid in the water pot” were not well received and her negative “who cares” comment during the dummy decorating received looks of disgust from many of her tribemates. In addition, Ghandia and Shii Ann seem to have become friends since their departure from the game, and it probably all started when they shared a smoke at the lodge. There’s no evidence that she stays any longer… Shii Ann leaves in EP5. Krautboy

I haven't posted in the spoilers this week, just been reading.I can tell this is going to be a tough week with a possible swap. I conclude though that Shii Ann is going. Last episode, she was not edited in a negative fashion. They spent most of the time showing Steph and Robb, making us forget that Shii did get 3 votes at the last tribal council. Unless she is protected by an alliance (prob no, Penny's "voting with the majority" comment), she's vulnerable. Alt: Robb Quotes of the week 1. "You will NOT see my ta-ta's" -Shii Ann 2. "Do they think I'm too controlling?" -Helen (um, yeah) 3. "My two year old (had a tantrum) one time and I whupped its @$$ and put it back to bed." -Clay 4. "I'm putting in an order for a bigger butt in my next life." -Jan (randomly)

Making her way on the tabloids this week. She's profiled on ETOnline as were Jed and Ghandia the prior 2 weeks. MB has given us too much information on the ability to switch tribes leading me to believe no one does. Episode 7 title "Assumptions" leads me to believe there may not be a traditional merge at Ep. 7. Spoilers tend to point to Robb, Stephanie and Shii-Ann being the next 3 booted. If there is no merge in Ep. 7, Shii-Ann would be the likely boot if SJ loses immunity. Ghandia was obvious boot last week. How do you hide another obvious boot the next week. Easy...make it obvious....

With the 2-3 switch speculation threads circulating it's been difficult to pick a boot-ee this week, there are several different senarios that could play out. Robb gets chomped and looses some of that manly dude strength that's gotten him this far (which isn't even THAT far)...this is what I'm banking on, or wishing. Alt: Shii-Ann, she gets the booty end of the stick.

Backing into this. Whatever the details of the switch, the she-devil does not really fit in or contribute during challenges. Whatever tribe she winds up on will question her value. If any Chewies wind up at Sook Jai, they will prove to be an asset in finding and preparing food. MB is messing with us big time. Robb is shown yelling in pain, he is probably safe. Stephanie was shown being rude and sick. Then she hauls that dummy all over the island and has a hairstyle bonding experience with Penny.

LAST EDITED ON 10-16-02 AT 11:05 AM (EST)Krautboy did a very nice job of summarizing the spoilers out there, thus I will only highlight what I felt were the strongest indications: The CG weight loss spoilers and Clay's comments indicate that the five left in CG will at least make the jury. The SJ tribe has been so downplayed and the editing re. them so clandestine, that something's being hidden. I think we will find out what that is this week, and begin to see the downfall of the Sookies. G-Diva's "smokers" post also points to an SJ loss this week. The True Dork Times speculation re. the missing SJ members in the vidcaps of the swap, and the Snicker's spoiler (5-6 torches seen at SJ), lead me to believe that the Sookies will lose one or two members in the next Episode, via swap or TC. Stephanie, imho, is the red herring bootee for SJ; somehow the swap will save her. She will be traded to the CGs (whether via a whole tribe transfer leaving her behind, or just her switching, that I don't know at this point), but a tribe made of Steph + the CGs appears to me the only way the CGs will be able to make a comeback against the stronger SJ tribe, and fulfill the weightloss spoilers. Shii Ann will be the loser in this, because the rest of the Sookies are in an alliance, and I don't think Robb will be the one to go because his injury was highlighted in the previews, which screams red herring (but, see below). Alt: Robb. I'm still troubled by the apparant absence of Robb in the twist vidcaps. Yet, it would be very unlike EPM to highlight Robb's injury if he was in fact the bootee. If he were to be booted/removed from the game due to the injury, I'd expect editing like we got for Mikey-in-the-fire in S2, where all we got was a hint of something catastrophic happening to one tribe. However, when considering the speculation that EMP is editing differently this season (see the thread re. "outfront" theory no longer working), maybe he is giving us the bootee again.

I like Krautboy's very thorough analysis, though I think he overdoes it on the "two unlikely tribemates" thing. I doubt CBS is that concerned with grammatical clarity. Here's my spiel -- Spoilers: 1. Shii Ann is GDiva star 2. Snickers lady: presumed correct about Robb and Stephanie being at SJ on Day 16 (but wrong about Chuay Gahn going to TC) Assumptions 3. No one switches tribes -- I'm wavering on this, but the preview that said "a stunning proposition could change everything" really screams that it WILL change nothing, IMO. And I still see no logical reason why anyone would switch, everyone is better off staying put. 4. Sook Jai loses IC -- Snickers lady said there were 6 torches max at SJ as of Day 16. If she is correct, SJ must boot someone this week. 5. Stephanie may be the despondent underdog, and/or may work on an unlikely alliance with Penny. In any case, her "outsiderness" is a red herring. Logic: 6. SJ wants to keep their numerical advantage, and would prefer to have Robb's and Stephanie's athletic prowess around for IC 6. Shii has sat out a number of challenges, ergo she's seen as weak; if prior votes count, she would be a liability in an even merge; she is # 5 in the Hut Quintet hierarchy and she has no single ally at this point. And at least a few SJs think she's annoying.

I liked what Cowboyroo said. The theories about Shii's booting are logical and make sense, but they require a lot of "What-If's" and there just isn't enough evidence to support all the What-Ifs. For all we know the Snickers spoiler is really another Uncle Cameraman. (Just because another user nic corroborates the story, doesn't make it true)Thus, I am going with the Occam's Razor argument until I see some vidcaps or something more concrete. GDiva's spoiler does make the most sense if a Sook Jai goes 3 TCs in a row. (Stephanie, then Robb, then Shii Ann) There's a lot of time for Shii to be booted, and it doesn't have to be this week. (Even if the Snickers spoiler is true)

Krautboy, so effectively summarized my thoughts. This is so unfortunate because she is a great player to watch and a great narrator. Did anyone catch that her first interview was in a tree just like Richard H was in S1? I can only hope I am wrong and she goes further, but the smokers club is too compelling of a spoiler... by the way, Diane from S3 confirmed NO SMOKING rules from the time the contestants leave LA, so no chance to 'group smoke' until they are booted.

I don't think Shii Ann (the SJ narrator, and my personal Diva favorite) is ready to go yet. It seems like everyone is basing all of their decisions on two very tenuous spoilers, 'Ghandia's' smokers/stars, and the 'Snickers' lady. I refuse to be a lamb lead to the slaughter. I think it's valid to assume that Ghandia may not have just blatantly listed every pre-merge boot. Just like Teresa Cooper was one of 'Diane's Friends' (which threw people off for WEEKS during S3, people were picking her to go week after week, trying to explain it and validate it, when it turned out Diane and T-Bird NEVER MET in the game, and became friends on the plane ride home!) Also, the 'snickers' lady seems untrustworthy to me, if it does turn out to be her, she will have hell to pay when EPM finds out she violated her non-disclosure contract. I'm picking Robb because I would like for him to go. He won't be sent home because of the accident, but he will be voted off because his whining in pain makes him even more annoying than before (if possible.)

First, let's take care of the IMPORTANT business:18 GEORGIA 13 TENNESSEE *waves at Superman, anotherkim, and other Vol fans out there* Okay, now for the rest of it: 1. The choices are pretty much Robb, Shii Ann and Stephanie. Stephanie is edited (IMHO) as the despondent one that we're now rooting for. Her story arc is not yet complete. Robb also has a bit more story to work with. Meanwhile, Shii Ann has been heavily featured lately, either narrating, or telling us her ability to do puzzles, or being a general witch. This kind of face-time earns SDawg's attention for boot candidacy. 1a. I also think Stephanie is the "Zzzoe" of S-5, and will be the one that everyone pauses to get rid of before getting down to serious tribal warfare post-merge, a'la Brandon in S-3 and Zoe in S-4. 2. The "Ghandia's Stars" list. Last week, after voting, I realized that Tanya was a "most definitely" star because, as Bible thumpers Pastor John and Jed hung close, so that would throw Ghandia and Tennessee Tanya together. Okay, same thing here: Ghandia said she and Shii Ann talked together about the SS board, and Shii Ann is both a "star" and a "smoker". So Ghandia gets to spend a good bit of time with Shii Ann. 3. Shii Ann is the most likely person to get booted in the event of some swap happening, be it individual or random, or however. She's the likeliest{sp?) to be hanging out there becuase I tend to doubt that anyone really likes her. She's already had major conflicts with Robb and Stephanie, and Robb and Ken seem halfway close, Ken and Erin may be flirting, Erin and Penny are reported to be close, and Penny and Jake seem to be the Roger/Lis or Pappy/Neleh of S-5. Did all that make sense? Goooood! Disclaimer: Vote subject to change without warning or notice based on Early Show information and/or SNewser/Paratroooper information.

The Snickers spoiler sounds sweet but it turns out to be nutty when you look at it closely:A visit by contest winners planned well in advance results in multiple persons not involved with the production of the show being provided supervised access to one of the the tribal campsites. Despite the advance notice of this visit and the fact that the tribe members are away at a competition, two of the most distinctive luxury items in the history of the show are left in full view of the visitors How is it possible that a production assistant did not do a simple 2 minute area sweep to 'santize' the tribal campsite of potential very obvious spoilers. For this reason I am barring the Snickers spoiler from my deliberations. Steph was able to rehabilitate her position within the tribe somewhat with an excellent physical effort during the banana dummy challenge last week. This -combined with Robb's injury makes Robb a far more logical choice for boot between Robb and Steph. Shii Ann's narrative thread has not begun to address the motivation for her ouster from the tribe. An episode will have to address the reason or reasons why she is rejected by the tribe. I frankly believe that Jeff Probst's comment about the 'despondent underdog' is a piece of deliberate misinformation designed to allow CBS to use the impending injury to Robb for pre-show publicity but to also still obfuscate the issue of Robb's logical ouster as a result of the injury. Let us not forget that the interview was reported via hearsay, as well. If they'll vote somebody out for vomiting, they'll vote somebody out for getting bitten or stung on the foot. Basically... I am ignoring the Snickers and the 'despondent underdog' quote and sticking strictly to game logic and what appears in the preview.

LAST EDITED ON 10-17-02 AT 01:45 AM (EST)I no longer believe the Snickers spoiler from Sucks. The only one I believe is the GDiva one. Anyway, the editing has gone to show that Steph is the biggest outsider in Sook Jai, weak, and sleeps in the rain so we have all assumed that she would be next go from her tribe. This is all an attempt to fool us so we will all be shocked when it is instead Robb that takes the walk of shame. Why would MB show us the next Sook Jai boot in the past couple episodes? It just wouldn't make sense. He doesn't usually give it to us that easy. This reminds me of when we were fooled and Zoe was voted out when we all thought it would be Rob Decanio. We all thought they wanted Rob gone next. It's called selective editing. Robb is the most annoying and since they have such a majority over Chua Gahn, they don't need his strength any more, especially since he will be a threat come the merge. Plus the biggest thing here that we are overlooking-------Robb is injured! Are we all forgetting that? Depending on how bad the injury is, he may be no good to his team in the future anyway and regardless is a good excuse for voting him off. Robb is going back to hell after this episode, where he came from.

I'm having a really hard time deciding whether Jan, Stephanie, Robb or Shii Ann is in the biggest danger here. It really really depends on how the switch is going to pan out.I DON't THINK it's going to be Shii Ann for the following reasons--------------------- 1) There has yet to be shown any motivation for either tribe to boot Shii Ann yet. I cannot see a scenario in which Sook Jai will boot ShiiAnn over Stephanie. And I DO think there is an alliance between the hut sleepers.. The only way this could happen is if Stephanie switches tribes AND NOONE from Chuay Gahn switches to Sook jai , because obviously that person would be the main target of the old Sook Jai members. 2) Erin commented last episode that Stephanie was being really mean and that no one likes being around people that are acting the way Stephanie is. Sounds like Erin is more willingly to boot Stephanie and if there is an alliance.. it's probably what the alliance is thinking. 3) Stephanie is STILL sleeping alone. If you were on Sook Jai... who would you trust more to stay as a pack after the merge? Unless she has a miracle change in attitude, the Sook Jai members know they have to stick together for the merge. 4) Robb gets hurt- so speculation that Shii Ann will leave because she's weaker.. is no longer valid. They'll boot Robb first! And Shii Ann helped them win the mental challenge IC last episode. 5) Shii Ann's story has NOT been told yet. She's been telling the story of the Sook jai camp, but her individual story has yet to pan out. Stephanie HAS had a story.. and Robb has had a minor one. But then again MB could stuff Shii Ann's story in one episode. 6) The narrator rarely leaves this early in the game. Think Kim P. for the Samburu tribe.. she lasted 'til 6th. Kelly Goldsmith lasted 'til 9th. Sean lasted 'til 5th, etc. Narrators tend to last until at least the jury. 7) Jeff said that Shii Ann may or may not use her bitchy-ness to her advantage.. not to her detriment. But then again JP tends to mess everyone up. I think Stephanie and Jan are the biggest candidates this week.

LAST EDITED ON 10-17-02 AT 02:17 AM (EST)Absolutely subject to change. Well, I started out with Shii Ann, continued, was ready to vote for Shii Ann. But no comfort level appeared telling me it was right. I was itchy. I now think there's a swap determined by chance or a pick from the other team, after no one initially volunteers. Stephanie doesn't get swapped, IMO, although 2-4 others probably do. Pro Steph boot Stephanie is still sick, per Erin in Ep 4 CBS clip. Stephanie's featured in the Globe, as Sarah was just prior to boot. I have no problem with Stephanie deserting those slippers when she treks to TC. IF the Snickers spoiler is correct, Stephanie did not swap to CG. The crew transfers ALL personal items to the new camp, whereas bootees frequently leave non-sentimental luxury items behind. Stephanie remaining at SJ would account for their not booting either one or two CG who may be swapped to them. I am leaning towards one swapee, who will not be perceived as an immediate threat, and who will not be sick and will be seen as a challenge asset (possibly Brian or even Ted). Against Stephanie going: boot set-up is complete, and she is obvious by tribal dynamics. Erin and Shii Ann seem sincerely against the way she is playing. No mystery to be revealed in her boot episode. Negating the obviousness: the swap hype may be counted on to make us/the public believe she gets saved. (Didn't work for Gina.) Robb provides good red herring. Against a Shii Ann boot: Erin's clip at CBS describes how mental strengths are considered part of the team's winning strategy. From this I deduce that Shii Ann is seen as valuable because she can solve puzzles and there are a shitload of puzzles. She's probably good with trivia too. She took honors in English at Cal and that means major intellectual muscles, and her teammates probably recognize this strength. For me, this new "brains and brawn" challenge philosophy negates the perception I keep hearing that Shii is the weakest member of her team for challenges and most dispensable. With Jed gone, I don't see a lot of brain left in the bunch, so she is not dispensable. Biggest factor: She is such a narrator, even though she does dynamics and Robb does the nature admiration. She has Varner's narrative role, the pre-merge dynamics narrator. It's hard to see her suddenly gone before Ep 6. (After writing this, I read other Steph votes, and note that seyz makes this argument as well). Against Robb boot Robb is TOO obvious. MB did not have to reveal who got stung, if the sting led to the boot. Robert and John's injuries were revealed in previews (non-bootees), whereas Mike's injury was revealed only through the "glove" spoiler. It's just possible that the tribe would rally around the injured Robb protectively, if his injury is perceived as short term. Since there's no RC, they can sit him out for the IC. They could even sit him out for the next RC, since the back-to-back rule only applies to challenges between TCs. I think Robb has more story arc. I really do! That leaves me with a Stephanie boot. We aren't getting any teasers about a particularly interesting TC, so it sounds like a straightforward vote. When Stephie goes to LL, she would gravitate towards Jed, who is probably hanging with John... she doesn't bond with Ghandia or make stars list. Ghandia will be all the more thrilled to get a smoking friend three days later. Alternate pick: Shii Ann. I am really on the fence this week.

I have seen nothing to contradict my speculation from over a week ago that Shii Ann was the only logical target for a post-swap boot.Of the three most-probable boots (Shii, Robb, and Steph), Shii is the only one that is in a position where her boot would be both logical (whether or not she switches) AND surprising. The Snickers Spoiler, which I do not place a tremendous amount of faith in, seems to be consistent with the other evidence, so I see no reason to discount it, and taken with the remainder of the evidence this week, I think it's safe to say that Shii is toast. As for the challenges, it's a lot more difficult to discern the winners, since it is unclear what the tribes will be. Under the assumption that Shii does not switch tribes, I predict that Chuay Ghan will win immunity. I do not think that there will be a reward challenge (with the episode following the general format of S3, as opposed to S4), but if there is, I give the win to Sook Jai.

There are a few scenarios that have come up regarding this week's twist. I'm not sure which one I believe.- Scenario 1: Ted will go to Sook Jai after Chewy loses the boat and that Shii Ann will be swapped to Chewy to make a 1-1 switch. The overmatched Chewies lose, and they vote out the newbie. - Scenario 2: Stephanie switches to Chewy, who then wins IC. The Suckies prefer to keep the stronger Robb to the cerebral Shii Ann to try and avoid losing another pre-merge challenge. It just seems like the she's the most likely option this week, regardless of what the ocean's surprise truly holds.

DISCLAIMER: I have no freakin clue who to vote for and it's really making me mad so I reserve the right to hop on the lemming train and change my vote should more solid info come in.Ice Cat did it...everything was pointing at a Shii Ann boot but Ice Cat brought up a point that just cannot be ignored. Why would Snickers allow the winners to see the 2 most memorable and odd luxury items in the history of the show????? The fact that numerically the Snickers spoiler doesn't add up also bugs me. OFG's high powered perception points to several factors that cannot be dismissed. 1. We have not been given any reason to believe that there is discention among the hut people. Shii appears on the surface to fit in and be the mental muscle for the hut people, she is telling the story but her story has not been told. Shii needs to stick around for a bit longer to use her bitchyness to it's full advantage. 2. **weeping** My beautiful porno boy makes the swap. I don't quite understand why, perhaps it really isn't his choice but either way he moves to the dark side where as OFG said his skill and physical attributes (mmmm...yeah baby) allow the tribe to cut ties with amiserable Steph and replace her with a strong contender, Porno Brian.

There are a number of similarities between this season and last with the E5 boot. Last season, we had the obvious choice of Sean, whose story many thought had played itself out, and he was simply waiting to be booted, and the mystery boot, Gabe. Gabe came out of nowhere. He was well liked, strong in the challenges, and yet his story came to an abrupt end because he wouldn’t play the game on John’s terms.I was one of the many people who got burned by picking Sean to go. In hindsight, I realize that I made that pick based primarily on what I wanted to happen Now we have Stephanie, who has been in the dumps for at least 2 episodes now, and Shii Ann, who seems to be safe in the hut alliance. For the past 2 days, I have been thinking that this is a replay of S4. All the attention is on Steph & Robb, and no one will see a Shii Ann boot coming. First of all, Robb isn’t going anywhere, at least not tonight. It is WAYYYY too obvious, and we wouldn’t get back to back obvious boots. I’m quite sure that if Robb’s injury rose to the level of Skupin (or anywhere close that would lead to a “mercy” vote), we would be kept in the dark as to the nature and severity of it. This looks a lot like John and The General from E3 of S4 to me. Much ado about essentially nothing. So I was all ready to put my vote in for Shii Ann, but just like in E2, it just didn’t feel right. This could very well be the second season in a row that I get burned by taking the more obvious choice in E5, but there are some nagging things that I just can’t get past (many of which have been detailed better than I could do by other folks). Her narrator status, not wanting to put too much stock in the Snickers spoiler, and the fact that she hasn’t had a story yet. All of that put me firmly back up on the fence, UNTIL… I took a little trip over to the CBS site, and the poll question is “Which Sook Jai member contributes most around camp? A) Robb B) Shii Ann C) Neither”. Well, consider me pushed. The fact that there are 3 people hyped as potential bootees, and 2 of them are specifically mentioned in a CBS poll puts me firmly in the camp of the one who isn’t. Steph goes. Fester

Switch weeks can be so confusing and typically result in unexpected boots. Shii Ann to the general viewing audience would be that. I overthought last weeks episode, and I'm trying not to do that this week, so my initial reaction remains my vote choice, Shii Ann gets the boot.I expect someone will switch tribes the most likely ones being Jan from CG, and Steph from SJ. While those two are likely the only ones to take the offer I think the other possible swappers could be Shii Ann, Robb, Helen, and/or Brian (who appears to be looking at the game from a long term perspective). I don't expect immunity will be offered as a switch criteria, however I would not be suprised if it was granted after the swaps are finalized or even at TC itself (the looks on peoples face if that happened would be fun!). I don't believe Steph is for sure LL bound, although I do think that if she makes it past this week she fits the "despondent underdog" comment well. The snickers people visit has limited value at this point too, primarily due to the fact that MB was controlling the visit (which is why if wouldnt bother me if Steph swapped and Robb stayed). The weightloss spoilers have not been satisfied for CG (too much time to recover) so expect none of them go this week whether they swap or not. I'm with EEE that there will be no reward this week, just the offer to swap with perhaps some food being a lure. The IC will be won by the CG's or the tribe that consists of the majority of the original CG's. While I think (based on many reasons including krautboy's and EEE's excellent analysis) that Shii Ann will be the most likely to go, I also think IceCat made some interesting observations as to why it might be Robb instead so he's my alternate. -ICB

She is the most vulnerable: Whether she stays in her old tribe (CG) and they lose IC (unless Robb has also switched, in which case Clay will want him out first, but may be over ruled to retain Robb's strength). Or she moves to the new tribe (old and weak member is easily booted when she is new) even if Steph and Robb stay in SJ. Seems logical to me, but I'm definetly in the minority of voters this time... Credits to Krautboy for convincing me. I had 3 man candidates for this week's bootee-- Stephanie, Robb, and Shii Ann.Stephanie For Stephanie's boot: 1) Seems to be outside the core alliance 2) Sour attitude around camp had possibly built some resentment towards her. Also stubborn by continuing to sleep in the rain 3) Appears to have still been sick 4) Despite Snicker's spoiler, she might have left her probably nasty slippers on the camp after she got booted out Against Stephanie's boot: 1) Snicker's spoiler 2) Hair alliance-- editing may have painted her out as more of an outsider than she actually was 3) An asset in challenges 4) Switch might save her 5) Candidate for despondent underdog Robb For Robb's boot: 1) Shown to be injured and could potentially be a mercy boot 2) Being a general idiot everytime he opens his mouth 3) Seems to be outside the core alliance even though not as much as Stephanie seems to be 4) Despite Snicker's spoiler, Robb might have left his skateboard since his injury might make it difficult for him to bring his heavy skateboard to the TC
Against Robb's boot: 1) Snicker's spoiler 2) Generaly well-liked despite being an idiot 3) An asset in challenges-- injury might negate this factor depending on the severity 4) Candidate for despondent underdog 5) See Against Shii Ann's boot: Reason 2 Shii Ann For Shii Ann's boot: 1) Snicker's spoiler 2) Lots of face time 3) Could seem to be irritating some of her tribe mates 4) Physically weak 5) In GDiva's Star list 6) In GDiva's Smokers list Against Shii Ann's boot: 1) Narrator role for SJ and narrators have a tendency to be booted later in the game-- but then again, this is MB. We had the worst winner's editing during S4, and since MB loves to screw with conventional editing to thwart spoilers, I'm not surprised if he screwed us again for this one. This is the reason why I think that the story arc spoiler isn't as powerful a spoiling tool as it used to be. 2) This is the thing that I couldn't manage to get out of my mind. She had made a comment in episode 1 where she talked about Robb in her confessional, "He's messing with the wrong girl. You don't mess with the Shii-Devil and not get the horns". I thought that the comment was a foreshadowing of her being instrumental in getting Robb booted out. Conclusion It looks to be Shii Ann. Most of the stronger evidences were not in her favor. I'll miss you, girl!

Shii Ann, Robb or Stephanie.Given the spoilers we have to work with, it seems easy to narrow it down to these 3 SJ members, and eliminate the CG members. Robb- IF his skateboard is still there, so is he. Making such a big deal of his injuries in the promo makes me think that he is safe this week. Due to the fact that he is annoying, I think he would be a logical boot choice if he is switched and injured. Robb is my alternate choice. Stephanie- Edited as the most vulnerable. Most likely saved by the switch. That's what the switch is there for, to save those next in line to go. IF her slippers are still there, so is she. Maybe we are getting two obvious boots in a row, but I doubt it. I also think that the next episode title could refer to Steph, if she is saved by the switch. It would also make sense to me, if she is the one exhibiting weird behavior next week, as stated in the promo. So, by simple process of elimination, I'm left with Shii Ann. Like Nightscribe, I believe we are being set up for a surprise boot. Shii Ann would fit that description. I just think the others would be too obvious.

Well, it seems pretty clear that it is one of three people, Shi, Steph or Robb. First of all, let me say that I am ignoring the swap. Its going to happen and since there is no way of figureing out who exactly gets swapped there is really no point to speculate on it. Instead, I'm basing my picks on the spoiler evidence we have. So..... Robb: Survivor Rule #78: Injuries shown are not revealed, or something like that. Or maybe its injuries revealed are never shown. Either way, the point is that if Robb was truly hurt to the point where he would have to leave the game we wouldn't have seen it in a preview, instead we would've heard someone screaming and seen a shot of a shark swimming in blood tainted waters. So Dood, have fun playing the role of red herring #1 this week.
Stephen: Sorry IceCat, but I believe whole heartedly the Snickers spoiler. Of course, I also believe that Stephen might just as soon leave her smelly, moldy jungle rot slippers at the camp instead of bringing them with her to every TC. But, going under the assumption that no Survivor is dumb enough to give up a possible EBay opportunity I'm leaing towards Stephen bringing his slippers with him when he exits the game. Also, Steph is being hyped as the most vulnerable these days....isn't it a rule that someone has to be saved by the sway? Might as well be her. ShiiiAnn: She's a smoker AND a Ghanoria star. That's two strikes right there. Plus, according to Ghandia the two of them still speak quite often. I also think that we have started to see some evidence that, now brace yourself, MB may be deliberately trying to mislead us through that magical spell known as selective editing. I know, you're as shocked as I am. We've been led to believe that Steph is a major outcast and no one likes her...but, who is the one telling us this most if not all of the time? Its ShiAnn. Also, as was pointed out in the vidcap thresd, there is definitely some bonding going on between Penny and Steph as evidenced by the matching french braids...settle down guys, I said "matching french braids" not "matching french maids." Hey, I think I just wrote a Sprint commercial! Anyway, back on track here for a second......the point is that Steph may not be as much of an outsider as we have thought. We've already seen that she has done well in the challenges and that without her the tribe would probably starve. As for ShiiAnn, she is clearly the weakest member of her tribe. Plus, although she is supposed be Ms. Mensa she sure hasn't demonstrated that in the challenges...remember, it was Robbb who basically solved BOTH puzzle challenges by himself last week. Now, if we want to look at this logically, and based on past Survivors i don't know why we would. But, just for the hell of it, let's put ourselves in the shoes of the Texas+NYPD Bland Alliance and figure out who we would get rid of at the next TC. Would we want to get rid of the 12 year old moron who thinks he is the most liked guy in the tribe and is already disliked by the CG tribe? Or would we want to get rid of the anti-social moron who sleeps in the rain and has zero people/relationship building skills? Or would we want to get rid of the intelligent non-physically threatening girl who is definitely smart enough to figure out that 2+2+1 = Asian girl go home? It the SJ 4 is smart this would be a great time to get rid of ShiAnn since she has the potential to do the most damage past the merge. The other two are invalids when it comes to alliance building. Alright, there ya have it.....I'm posting this now, but I'm definitely going to watch ET tonight to see if there is anything else in there....so, this pick might very well change about 5 minutes prior to showtime.
Also, if Steph is the one who goes I vow to retire from spoiling since that will be twice already this season that I've gone with ShiAnn instead of picking the obvious boot. Instead, you will find me on The Bachelorette board working my spoiler magic. FYI, look for Trista and five of her suiters to make an appearance at a San Diego Chargers game this season....Trista will be wearing a Tomlison jersey.

LAST EDITED ON 10-17-02 AT 05:18 PM (EST)I don't belive it will be Ted, despite the Thai park ranger. Me no think it Kelso; he's busy being sting-ray meat. Stephan is edited to appear outcast, yet she is putting in the effort. Misdirection? I choose the young, thinks-she's-smarter-than-she-is, first Asian female contestant on Survivor as tonight's honoree at tribal council. She incurred some negative glances from the fort people last episode. She had 3 votes against her previously. I would think she knew it was Jed, Stephan, and Robb. The switch may upset her tenuous balance, true or perceptual. Editing to the general, non-spoiling audience is setting her up as a nasty, yet, temporarily tolerable companion. It makes for good drama when she cannot outlast the more obvious candidates in her mind; Robb, Steph, and she had to have thought, Jan at the notion of the switch. The editing is making it look like Stephan or Robb are falling; it will be a good twist to see someone else go. Squid-Ann's departure is no great loss. Now squirt an ink trail and bail you ex-member of the tribe.

Ok, I am not mooooooing with the rest of the herd here. I actually thought it would be Shii for most of the week.OFG makes a very convincing argument for Steffi, but I tend to believe the spoilers we have (particularly Snickers and the "despondent" arguments.) Besides Ms. True was even more convincing, with her arguments for a "She-Devil" boot. Sook Jai will most likely win the IC. Here's why: The Snickers spoiler tells us that Steffi does not move from Suckie. Why? Her stinky slippers, I say. She could have left her stinky slippers behind, if she did not want them, you say. While that is true, please remember that if she is traded to Chewie, SHE will NOT pack her stuff up. Either the crew or her former tribemates will, and THEY will have sent her slippers off to Chewie with the rest of her stuff. Shii Ann goes to Chewie, and most likely someone else will go with her, maybe Robb. There will be a majority of original Chewies at Chuay Ghan. This is all speculation, of course. And I might be wrong at how it all plays out, but in the end Shii WILL be the next to go. <Marquee lights are off, as per Sherp's request> (c) 2002 IceCat Originals, Inc. All rights reserved.

MB has given us precious little this week. I think we are all working from previous weeks. Even the Snickers and Clay's Customer spoilers revealed this week are suspect!I wanted to say Stephanie, but with the Switch lurking out there, I just can't. She has now had some food and, unless the suspected banana-induced diarrhea has also caused her brain to evacuate as well, she should be smart enough to jump ship in a heartbeat! Alternatively, her tribemates may also vote to trasfer her to the Chewies. Either way, I suspect some form of immunity (RC = immunity reward). Dood is also a likely boot candidate, but he still has his uses and is relatively harmless to his other tribe members. This blithering idiot will not be capable of thinking of any reasons to switch. He will stay with the Suckies because he trusts them, even if they lie to him about how they will vote . I also have a hard time believing he would go over to the Chewies and be with the "old folks", particularly "whiny" Clay! His story arc still has some curve to it. Dood will be happy to help the Fort Alliance vote off an unsuspecting member. If I were the Fort Alliance, and knowing merge was coming up, I would want to boot a sneaky, clever, hard-thinking but annoying player and keep the blithering idiot for later. I think Shii-ann is the fifth-wheel in Fort Alliance. I think we have seen in the past Survivors that a good alliance should have only 2-4 solid members. Anyone kept around as a fifth-wheel is destined for sacrificial use as necessary. You must boot them before they can work out a new and dangerous alliance with incoming survivors following the merge. This may be the time, and,it might even be time to throw another IC to make sure it happens. With little more than this to go on I think the She-Devil gets "forked". RC-none or Suckies win IC-Chewies win

A slight difference my SFever pick. In that column, I was about 80% Stephanie (head pick) and 20% Shii Ann (heart pick). I was swayed by a lot of what's been posted here, there and everywhere in the last twenty-four hours, and reluctantly went with Shii Ann, though I had no real justification for it.Here, I'm sticking with Stephanie. It makes sense. Robb will get stung, become despondent, and we'll start rooting for him when it's clear he's a goner. I suspect this will happen in Ep 6. He'll be the "Power of One," busting his ass to prove his worth to his tribe and make sure he isn't boot #6. It won't work. I now think Shii Ann's toast in Ep 7, "Assumptions." Her assumption is that her alliance with the other 4 Sook Jais is solid. She will be wrong, and they (or at least one of them) will work to get her out in Ep 7.

Switching tribes saves Steph for now. Dude's sting is a red herring. SJ outsider Shii Ann gets booted over the stronger Dude. If Shii was smart, she'd switch tribes, but I think she feels safe.

There are three potential bootees: Robb, Shii Ann, and Stephanie. All three are "obvious" to different people.1) Robb is "obvious" to people who casually watch the show. They don't like him because he's Dood. They now see that he is being stung, losing the main thing he has going for him, his strength in the tribe. But he isn't going anywhere. 2) Shii Anni is "obvious" to the fanatic spoilers. Snickers points to her, she's a "star" and a "smoker" and the hyped-up switch means anything goes. 3) Stephanie is "obvious" based on game logic. I don't think she's being edited that differently from the way she is. She DOES sleep alone by the fire every night. She WAS best friends with Jed, the person voted off. She DOESN'T get along with her tribe. We have zero evidence that a swap or switch saves her. The best evidence we have (Snickers) is that she isn't switched, and Snewser has indicated she doesn't make the jury. In that case, I can only assume she is out the door tonight.

The Snickers spoiler bothers me a little. I wonder to myself: They see 5 or 6 torches ... could that not be 6 or 7? I consider: They say they were there sometime between Day 16 and Day 18 ... can't they tell us the exact calendar date they were there so we could narrow that down a little closer to the game day? Something about it doesn't sit right with me, so I am going with my first instinct that Shi-Devil is gone tonight. She is weaker; she tends to get in the middle of issues (arguing with Robb, bad-mouthing with Steph); and doesn't appear to contribute much to anything ("I don't care" in response to questions about decorating the dummy). Steph is indeed an outcast of sorts, but I think the switch saves her somehow tonight and she is actually our "despondent one" who perks up with this change in the game. We saw her energy once she got some nutrients into her system, with the bananas. I suspect we will see much more of her in upcoming episodes, and be impressed by what we see.

I see my old buddy Snewser changed his pick from Shii Ann to Stephanie. For purposes of this pick, I'm taking 4 things into account: shakes' pick, OFG's pick, Krautboy's pick and sleeeve's pick. Krautboy and shakes pick Shii Ann. OFG and sleeeve pick Stephanie. To break the tie, I'll rely on Snewser. Stephanie it is. Once again, no independent spoiling on my part....
