Hm, sorry. Can't even begin to agree with this.He lied, in a completely unnecessary way, on his resume. Where I come from and in any job I've ever held, that's enough to get you fired.
IMO, the Food Network was more than gracious to let him get some camera time to explain himself and the opportunity to pull himself out of the competition (even if it wasn't completely voluntary). Personally, I'd have fired him outright, no explanations or excuses.
He had good skills and a sometimes engaging personality. He was too much like Emeril (too loud and obnoxious) for my taste, but I wouldn't have had a problem with him winning had he not misrepresented himself the way he did.
"Let them call me rebel and welcome, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a whore of my soul by swearing allegiance to one whose character is that of a sottish, stupid, stubborn, worthless, brutish man. I conceive likewise a horrid idea in receiving mercy from a being, who at the last day shall be shrieking to the rocks and mountains to cover him, and fleeing with terror from the orphan, the widow, and the slain of America." Thomas Paine
