DonnaLynn 582 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Reality Show Commentator" 04-26-05, 12:20 PM (EST) "The Family" Does anyone remember this show? I think that's what it was called. George Hamilton was the host and it was a huge, loud family with Aunt Donna and a bunch of people who acted crazy and who were competing for like $1mil or something like that. It was on a couple of years ago and I loved that show! Does anyone else remember this and does anyone know if there will be another show like this one again? --Donna :~)   Top

"RE: The Family" The ratings sucked so bad that ABC had yanked it from the air and brought then brought it back in Summer 2003: http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/newsshow.php?x=51 ...we won't be hearing from either The Family or what eventually became the similar-sounding CBS The Will show ever again -- unless it's maybe in the form of repeats on the upcoming Fox Reality Channel.   Top

I remember that about 3 episodes in, I ran into an old friend from school that I hadn't seen in years and we started talking and catching up and one of the first things he mentions to me is "Have you seen The Family?" He loved the show as much as me and thought it was great. As I always have said, "ratings" are not accurate until they put a tracking device on every cable box, dish receiver and Tivo in America... Sometimes very popular shows are cancelled because of who gets the ratings diaries to fill out... --Donna :~)   Top

I thought it was a good idea, but I guess we were the only ones!!! I wonder WTH is keeping "The Bachelor" on these days? I dont a know a single person who stil watches. I also agree on your ratings post. I am one of those people who Tivo's everything.   Top
