I have been a fan since SYTYCD from the beginning and I have been extremely disappointed with the judges statements this season. When Mary Murphy was on the show she was fun, uplifting, and brought an alternate opinion to the routines different from the other judges. Now with Mia Michaels on the panel the comments have become absolutely depressing. All of her comments seem to be negative and she tries to critique every damn thing without giving the contestants a chance to grow in the show. Im sick of her complaints and I find myself booing her off the panel every time she speaks! Please bring back Mary Murphy so that we can start having fun again and bring back tha hot tamalie train spirit!!

I completely agree! As a judge I think Mia has a lot to be desired.I have watched from the second season, and it used to be a can't miss show...meaning we have to watch it right then when it is on. Plans around the show. Now...I can go days without watching, and not really care so much. I don't like all the injuries, I don't feel like they are having as much fun as previous seasons, and I really am starting to not like Mia at all.

I don't get the whole "Mary yelled too loud" bit. There is a little button on your remotes called "Volume." Use it, and stop complaining.Mary brought energy, emotion, comedy and fairness to the judging panel. She wasn't afraid of being critical when the technique wasn't there. It was obvious that getting Mary's approval meant more to the dancers than the approval of any other judge. Sort of like Idol contestants with Simon. The judging this season has been HORRIBLE. Mia too critical?? This has to be some sort of joke. Especially after her unnecessary apology, we can expect Mia to not be critical for the remainder of the show. That leaves Nigel as the only judge capable of criticism, and he is too busy defending the show to bother doing that. Seriously, Adam is a great guy. But the next time he is supposed to say something after a performance, he should just say "#####" (his favorite word this past show) and pass it on to Mia. That would be just as beneficial as all his crooning over how much he loves all the contestants. Yeah, we know, Adam. Ortega was useless as a judge. Just what we needed. Another fan to go up there and say how great everybody is. If he had been decent, he could have booted Mia or Adam off the panel. By God, Nigel, Mary, and Dan, Lil C or Tyse, THERE are your judges. Someone stop this lovefest. Mute Mary? Better than fast-forwarding through all the judges, which is what I do now.

After working with the talent of Michael Jackson, maybe, he wasn't so impressed with some of the work. Rather than be critical, he kept his mouth shut. Maybe. "By God, Nigel, Mary, and Dan, Lil C or Tyse, THERE are your judges. Someone stop this lovefest. Mute Mary? Better than fast-forwarding through all the judges, which is what I do now." I agree with everything but Lil C. I have my doubts about what he knows about classical dance technique, the foundation of most of what we see on SYTYCD. Further, he is not exactly what you would call erudite (  ). I would liken him to Norm Cosby, the classic comic whose use of malapropisms was genius. It doesn't work for Lil C.

Really? How do you know this? Have you met him? Do you know what degrees he holds? Have you had actual conversations with him or are you basing this solely on the comedic angle SYTYCD has gone with for him as a judge. Further, I submit to you that one does not necessarily need a wall full of degrees to be considered erudite. But, I guess you figured he was black and and a hip hop dancer and therefore couldn't possibly be knowledgeable. Since you seem to think Lil C's use of malapropisms doesn't fit him, I'll have to challenge you to maybe check a dictionary because as far as I am concerned Lil C was never guilty of malapropisms. I'll be honest, I cannot recall the term for what he does (using large words in place where smaller words would suffice)to show off their knowledge (sort of like you did in your post, not many people people use erudite and malapropisms in everyday conversation and I'm over 40).

Perhaps you would agree, then, that 'Lil' C speaks in "Fractured English". Perhaps not. Whatevah! His speech is not amusing, but incomprehensible, at times. All he succeeds in doing is confusing a lot of people, with the possible exception of you. If he is going to continue in this "practice", he needs to practice. Additionally, you did not get to my real objection to him being a judge; i.e., that he does not seem to have the background in classical dance that is the foundation of most of what is presented on the program. Maybe you know him and would be good enough to enlighten the rest of us?

I would agree on this - Lil C is an enigma. He speaks in fractured English at times, at other times he speaks much more eloquently and yet other times he has complete diarrhea of the mouth. I am not a fan of Lil C but I am not a fan of people who seem to judge others without all the facts. Whether or not he has a background in classical dance I cannot say for certain, but I am willing to concede that he does not. Had you simply left your comment to that there would have been no problem, but you chose to attack his character based on what I can only surmise to be stereotypical prejudgment I.E prejudice.
What I do find amusing is that you are a walking contradiction. You write some dribble about my not having a clue about the author and then the very next sentence you write "All he succeeds in doing is confusing a lot of people, with the possible exception of you." Where in my previous post did I mention I understood Lil C? The point of my first post was to point out while you were making fun of LIL C for trying for showing off his use of vocabulary I found it ironic you were doing the same thing. Then you post a cautionary sentence about not knowing the person you are writing about, but yet I've read only 2 posts from you and that's all you've done. I'm through with you.

I find your overt communication of anger and hostility interesting. Your hypersensitivity to the fact that 'Lil' C is black and a hip hop dancer are also revealing. Most people, in a forum like this, would try to conceal these feelings, but not you.First, the use of the word erudite in the same sentence in which one mentions "Lil' C is obvious hyperbole. You seem so angry you cannot see the humor that was intended. It is not an attack on his character. As you point out, I do not know the man, so how could I attack his character? What I commented on is what he shows the viewing audience. "All he succeeds in doing is confusing a lot of people, with the possible exception of you." "Possible exception" are the key words here. When communicating in text, words are important. All of the words, and their context. Not just what you (the collective you) decide to pick out, like you are in a Deli, selecting a sandwich. I am glad you are "finished" with me. Otherwise, I might need to leave town by sunset. But, before I got on my pony, I would be compelled to suggest Anger Management.

Buddy, don't flatter yourself. You have not yet even begun to scratch the surface to my anger because trust me - if you did you should make sure that pony is close at hand. But of course this is the internet and of course because you feel protected behind your keyboard you suddenly have b*lls and therefore you can type all the dribble you wish. Tell me Buddy, would you be quite so chatty if we were face to face? Before you answer, let me describe me: I stand 6'3 I weigh 278. I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a red belt Tang Soo Do and have been studying MMA for about 7 months. I'm not a violent man - in fact I'm a Buddhist which is why I defend others when I feel they are being attacked and can't defend themselves, verbally or physically. So, through my religion and my meditation my anger is very hard to raise. But that is what annoys me so much about you and your posts. You act as if you know everything and whatever opinion you decide to post you phrase it as fact. Get a life Buddy.
