SYTYCD returns to the Summer schedule! http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/fox-debut-so-you-think-you-can-dance-seventh-edition-on-may-27-10355.php Returning to the Summer is a good start, but let's list all the things we hope they reverse from last season's Fall debacle. * Go back to the old set. (Cinderella's Pumpkin carriage was too distracting). * Go back to the audience voting the first 2 weeks instead of just the judges deciding who goes. * Have the show consistently twice a week. Not once a week and fit in around baseball or anything else. * Go back to a Final 4, not a Final 6! The final 2 guys routines and the final 2 girls routines have been some of my favorite routines. (Tranji's Hip Hop, Danny & Neil's Fighting Princes Contemp., Jeanine & Kayla's layers of skirts Contemp.) * Do a tour again! The Season 6 dancers really got short changed. Less airtime and no tour. * The only thing I liked about the Fall season was the "Meet the Top 20" episode. It was wonderful seeing the dancers in their own style, and really helped you learn more about ALL of their abilities (not just the few the Producers decided to highlight in the auditions). What are your suggestions for the Summer show?

They also said more rotating judges (Mary Murphy judging & choreographing, Mia Michaels back to judging, Debbie Allen, Adam Shankman -- not sure if he's permanent or rotating -- Tyce D'Orio). Now if we can just get rid of Nigel's permanent spot or if he'd clean up his act...

I'm sure there will be a male Contemp dancer. I would also love to see that be Jakob (since they announced Travis Wall will be a choreographer and not an All Star).

A Ballroom Beauty is a Season 7 All-Star

One of our best Latin Ballroom partners ever on #SYTYCD ANYA is returning. It wouldn’t be a complete set of All-Stars to have Pasha Kovalev but not Anya Garnis! During the third season of So You Think You Can Dance, long-term ballroom partners Pasha and Anya were split up and paired with new partners. Anya was teamed up with eventual runner-up Danny Tidwell, and the pairing of a ballroom girl with a contemporary guy lead to some strong performances. Anya and Danny started off the competition with fire during a Tony Meredith Jive to “Girlfriend,” by Avril Lavigne, and it continued the next week with a Viennese Waltz to Lifehouse’s “You And Me.” You can’t keep Anya away from So You Think You Can Dance! She and Pasha assisted Vegas hopefuls with choreography in past seasons. They also choreographed a Cha-Cha in Season 4 for Courtney Galiano and Gev Manoukian, a samba for Randi Evans and Evan Kazprzak during Season 5, and a jive routine for Mollee Gray and eventual winner Russell Ferguson on a Season 6 Top 10 show. In addition to making several appearances on SYTYCD throughout the past couple years, Anya also toured in Jason Gilkison’s “Burn The Floor,” performed on a “Dancing with the Stars” results show, and competed for Russia in “Superstars of Dance.” And the best fun-fact about Anya Garnis: she is what sparked Mary Murphy to use the term “Hot Tamale” to describe a performance! Stay tuned…we still have one more girl and two more guys to announce!

34. "My All Stars" |
LAST EDITED ON 04-23-10 AT 02:28 PM (EST)For the most part I like their selection of All Stars. However, I think they could have chosen much better Contemp. dancers than Lauren & Courtney, and should have chosen less Contemp. and more Ballroom All Stars. Jeannette would have been a perfect choice because she was good in ballroom as well as everything else too. Here's the list of who I would have loved to see as All Stars (maybe next year). Season 1: Blake McGrath (busy w/ SYTYCD Canada) Season 2: Benji Schwimmer (was a great partner and lifted Donyelle with ease). Travis Wall (but he's doing a great job as choreographer, so I understand). Heidi (she'd also be a great Ballroom partner). Season 3: Lacey Schwimmer (if DWTS doesn't use her anymore), Danny Tidwell. Season 4: Chelsie Hightower (currently on DWTS), Katee Sheen, Joshua. Season 5: Brandon, Jeanine, Jeannette. Season 6: Jakob, Evelyn, Ryan & Ashley DiLello. Which All Stars would you like to see in the future?
