Please keep all text only discussion of tonight's filler, special guests, judging commentary, Cat's wardrobe, Cat's makeup, Cat's hair, camera shots of the ceiling during the performances, oh and if they bother to tell us who won the show (because that really isn't the point of a two hour finale, now is it?) on this thread until after the people on the West Coast down a big shot of alcohol to drown out the pain of knowing exactly what their fellow Americans vote for. Lurker Melinda here....Thanks for the results! I'm one of those Left Coasters who doesn't want to wait ..I didn't have a clear favorite this year, but I'm happy for the winner! Travis' choreography was my favorite this year...I remember I wanted him to win the year he competed...I'm so happy to see him back...

I agree. Then again, watching all the dances tonight I thought the final 4 performed them better this time than last. Either the pressure was off and they felt free to let loose, or they are showing how much they have grown in this competition. Maybe both.

For me it was just a bit too pimped, and just too little personality.
She also tended to raise her shoulders when she danced some things that messed up too many of those perfect lines for me.
That and I didn't really see much in the way of growth and I like to see someone go from really good to really great rather than just float at the same level (even if very high) the whole show.
I do love her grandparents. They are the cutest ever.

I love Evan. He nailed the leaps, he is passionate, he's smooth, he's awesome, he's Fred Astaire and Danny Kaye, who I might, add were not your typical hotties of Hollywood, but man, were they smooth.
I would have added Gene Kelley there, but he was actually pretty hot.
And I love Evan's look. I thought he transitioned from character to quite the suave, debonaire (sp?) sexy man.
He'll go far, no matter what. And I figure we'll be seeing him during his brother's turn at Season 6.

I'm happy with that. It's overwhelming to her. You can really see it. If Kayla was to say those words they would come off as snotty and entitled.
Jeanine has such a great sense of humour. Although I get the sense that Mom is a bit of a stage mom.

As soon as Nigel said he was delighted when he found out who won I knew it was Jeanine...they wanted another woman I think. Jeanine was so cute up there afterwards I'm so happy for her. And I also noticed that Kayla and Tyce were off by themselves. I think she was very human in that she wanted to win and was a bit jealous...maybe she had already hugged her and she has a thing for tyce...but does tyce play that game?

Also Nigel sort of undercut her when he said he won't say "everyone's a winner" that is exactly what Kayla said when she came in 4th.

Oh and 2009 is the year of the dark horse Kris A and Jeanine!

It was nice that they actually had a few minutes to talk to the winner after the announcement and the show still ended on time. On the AI Finale, the announcement seems like it is rushed at the end, after the show has already gone over.
