StarryLuna 4771 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Stuff Magazine Centerfold" 08-02-07, 11:27 AM (EST) "Does ANYONE like Lacey?" I'm kind of getting sick of all the Lacey hate. Am I the only person here who truly enjoys watching her dance and thinks she has a fun personality? Yeah, so she schmoozes the audience too much. So have a lot of other dancers. It's just how she was trained. She's getting called on it and you can see she's trying to work on it to improve herself. At least she doesn't obnoxiously seek out the cameras, LAUREN. In fact, last night when everyone was doing their own thing, Lacey was the first one to gather around Dominic and cheer him on. She's kind of getting a raw deal, imho. I think Lacey is a phenomenal dancer, it's her attitude that I do not like. I noticed the looks the very first time she was being critiqued by the judges during the first show. At first I thought her 'really, I know I am good, whatever you say' looks were just her. Then I noticed that they became more and more exaggerated, and to me her dances doesn't qualify her to have the I know I am that good attitude that she has at those times. I cannot stand anyone that acts fake and she does. I lvoed Benji, I felt he was true...I cannot get that feeling with her. I think she's adorable (her giggle makes me giggle) and I don't notice any fakeness from her, and she certainly doesn't mug to the extent that Lauren does. However, last night she was obviously not dancing to her partner, which is a no no in the type of dance they were doing. Latin dancing is basically foreplay to music. You have to be connected to your partner by passion, not playing to the audience. Of course, Pasha was not all that focused on her himself. Mary was right, it was forced "chemistry," because of that, the dance suffered. The reason they connected so well on the second number, was because that dance wasn't about sex, it was about family love. They didn't have to fake it, so it came off much better. I'm surprised how well she does outside her genre. I do find some of the quirks she shares with Benji that seem trained into both of them annoying, but she doesn't do them enough to cause hate. They were endearing on Benji, but not so much on her. I do think she sometimes has been safer than she should be because of Benji, but I do think she has earned making it this far in the competition. Lacey is fine; maybe not "the" best, but certainly very entertaining. I do have a hard time not seeing a "brunette Heidi" there, though--not in body shape, but in the face. Can't stand Lauren. Like Sara. But I'm increasingly in awe of Sabra! Wow. Of the eight left, I'd love to see her win it. None of the guys impresses me more than Sabra. I've enjoyed Lacey's dance ability and versatility. She has adapted well to all the different genre's, and has shined with a weaker partner. I think they handicapped her (with a weaker partner and the wide variety of dances *Hustle*) so they wouldn't be showing Benji's sister favoritism, and she's overcome it all.
