He aligns himself with Jack. But Palmer will have to watch his back as assassin Mandy shows up at season's end. Jack discovers a Chinese national named Cheng (Tzi Ma) is calling the shots with Marwan. Jack tracks Cheng down to the Chinese consulate, breaks in and the counsel general is killed. Ouch! Jack then must decide when Paul and a vital witness both need surgery and only one surgeon is available at CTU. Guess who he picks? Jack and Audrey's relationship ends up in turmoil.
