Maggie was a master manipulator who was able to get her minions to do her bidding. Kail couldn't even get her own alliance to vote out D!ck on week 2. D!ck's strategy seems absurd to me. He yells, screams, intimidates and humiliates anyone who opposes him. He seems to forget that some of these people will inevitably land on the jury and will vote against him in the event that he makes Final 2. To me, a good player is able to manipulate, betray and drive the game without pissing off the entire house. There is a big difference between thinking that there is perhaps just a tiny bit more value in the life of one's child than the life of a pet and saying that animals are just here for our inhumane amusement and we should torture them. I don't think ED was saying they don't matter at all, just that he doesn't see how someone could say a pet is as important as (or as some people do it way more important than) a child. He seems to understand it a bit better when someone has no kids as they don't know the bond between a parent and a child, but for someone who has their own flesh and blood how do you tell your own flesh and blood that the dog is just as important as them. Really, in a life or death situation do you save first the kid or the pet? ETA: I'm sure ED would save his kids first, Amber well other than she would stand there being unable to decide and cry, I almost think she'd save the dog first. I don't think "just" in the statement means that one believes there s zero value in the dogs's live and one can torture and kill them. Merely that when one choses betwen a dog and a human one weights their value differently. I suppose those words could come out of an animal abusers mouth, but it also comes out of the mouths of people who would put a vicious dog that mauled a child down, or who would take their child out of a burning house rather than the dog. In both cases they would feel bad the dog died, but feel the death of a human means more. I guess some may value the unconditional love of a pet more than the often all too conditional love that we get from other humans. I still value the love and lives of humans more, AND believe all animals should be treated humanely. Is that really so hard to believe? He's just a mean person. And any time he tries to confort Danielle or act father-like he seems to be playing to the camera or to America more then he is trying to help her.
