"Well, that was painfully obvious."
LAST EDITED ON 12-08-05 AT 08:59 AM (EST)

Y'know what Ryan needed last night? Bethenny. Someone who would look at his ideas, (self)-execution, and drinking, then have the courage to pull the emergency brake. Except that we got Marcela, whose only job was to say 'I'm not the Project Manager. I cannot suggest. I cannot disagree. I can only march to my doom.' At this point, the editing has given up on all hope of being subtle and has settled for a step-by-step description of each person's walk off the cliff. I knew Ryan was gone the instant he felt safe. The only question mark was Marcela, because Martha said one person would leave during her 'I can't stand to be near you people' briefing. Of course, that was briefly assuming Martha wouldn't lie. Silly me...

Oh, and as long as we're on the subject of Martha, the near-infinite series of Worst Rewards Ever finally came to an end with -- naturally -- one of the Worst Rewards Ever. 'Let's play Scrabble!' No, let's shove the letter tiles down your throat and see how long it takes you to choke on them. Whee! But that assumes you need to breathe. Problem...

'Moral' spelled out on Bethenny's shelf. Wonder how many takes that needed?

So here we are at the Final Three and the interviews. Several people will have to listen to Jim talk. This may be where we finally lose him. Not that he hasn't been living on borrowed ratings time for weeks. He's a man, y'know. He can't be Martha's apprentice. He just wouldn't fit in. To her series logo.

Feh. One and done for this edition? Can't be soon enough.

I think Jim did a great suck-up job last night on the worst reward eveh! I would absolutely piss my pants if Jim won this whole thing. The irony of Jim winning would be priceless as EVERYONE has said he is doomed and will no way win.

I think that's more of a 'let the punishment fit the crime' ending. For the torture of putting us through her series, Martha has to have Jim on her workforce for a year. It's probably not enough time to completely destroy the company, but that's got to be good for at least a 20% hit on her stock prices.

It would serve Martha right to have Jim acting like a monkey on her counters behind her on her other show. And maybe to keep him out of trouble, he can be the official person who decides who has good calves or not. And every so often he can tell Martha, Alexis and Charles how cute they are.

Missed the last half hour but if what you are saying
is true, I doubt Jim thought Martha couldn't hear him.
However this might backfire on him, because subordinates
should not think their bosses are cute. Heehee

If Jim becomes the Apprentice, should we all start short selling her stocks?

My thoughts are what was Ryan thinking.

He started off as a very strong player and in recent weeks he was weak. I mean to me it started with wanting to get a guy from the Sopronas with an x-rated name to appear at a coffee maker store. And just totally rebelling against his PM. Then the bring your car to diner idea. And last night his instance on having a baseball player and other jocks in an ad that was supposed to directed to females. Him then getting drunk and editing the commericial while intoxicated. To me it appeared the guy wanted to get fired. Martha said he needs more education...sorry but you don't learn that stuff in school it is common sense. What a doofus. Without looking it up what are this guys creditials if he has no education?????

Ok, here is Ryan's background from the NBC website.

"Ryan, 28, oversees the marketing and advertising for his father's employment law firm while he awaits his results from the California state bar exam. After playing baseball at the junior college level, Ryan transferred to UC Davis and graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics. Ryan enlisted myriad ways of supporting himself through college: running a car detailing business, teaching at baseball camps and modeling. After graduation, Ryan opened and ran the San Diego branch of his father's firm. He earned his law degree from the California Western School of Law and lives with his wife in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA. "

Supposedly he is a marketing and advertising guy and he has no sense of targeting at all. A TV Mafia guy is supposed to sell coffee makers and a baseball/sports theme is supposed to be directed to 40 year old women????? As far as his education he has a law degree....maybe he is lacking the marketing.......how ironic that is for a marketing/advertising guy. Sounds like he just inherited a business from a rich father.

Where do you get that he "supposedly" is a marketing/advertising guy. The stuff you took from the Web site is nothing remotely close to being marketing/advertising. Economics has nothing to do with either and modeling isn't related. Running a car detailing business might have something to do with marketing but mostly is done word of mouth. Running his father's law firm certainly would not give him a background that would be a fit for Martha...I don't think.

Is there something I am missing?

I finally blogged

I knew he was gone in the conference room when he made the comment that 40-ish women like to look at men in sports gear. The looks on Martha's and her daughter's faces were unbelievable.

Ah, sweet little Marcela. Sweet, little do-nothing Marcela. Miss "I can't do it all by myself" who obviously can't influence a frog to jump. I loved it when she got into the boardroom and immediately took on the 'poor little me' role (this without the slumped posture and big woeful brown eyes). Turns out Ryan screwed up the project ON PURPOSE because he knew it would be MARCELA that Martha would fire! Took all responsibility for the loss off her shoulders, didn't it? Hah! Martha did the right thing -- fire both of the drags on prime time.

I doubt he screwed up the task on purpose. What does he gain by doing that? It goes against his track record as project manager heading into the final four. Besides if his team won the task someone on Primarius goes home and both him and Marcela wouldn't have to worry. He didn't screw it up on purpose unless the guy is more clueless than I thought he was......screwing up on purpose does not help him but harms him. The guy is just a buffoon or he really didn't want the job with Martha and was only doing the show to be on tv.

The show has already been cancelled and thus will not return for another season. Blame the producers for not fooling you idiot viewers enough

If you don't think the producers control ALL that goes in these shows, you are wrong. Right down to who drinks and who doesn't. Who argues with who. Who does what on each task.

Bye Bye Martha. Your show flopped. What is the next "original" idea you can come up?

Or will you go back to screwing the "common man" out of money. Or stealing your obviously sick in the head daughters men.

In the Beginning I thought Ryan was strong. But his last 3 or 4 tasks were terrible. I can't believe he actually drank like that. Very stupid, I mean if no one is around then knock yourself out. But if you got Camera crews and other employees you can't get away with that.

They didn't do basic common sense stuff.

I like Marcella, but I kinda agree on her firing. She was a lemming and just walked off the cliff.

Ryan a real idiot, glad he's gone.

LAST EDITED ON 12-12-05 AT 08:39 PM (EST)

If you are a fan of Martha Stewart and you want to work for her, the reward was fantastic. I think if any of us had a chance to hang out with any celebrity that we really admire, we'd jump at the chance to go to that person's home and play Scrabble with them. I think for the contestants in this interview, the reward was great.

I knew Ryan was gone after they showed him drinking beer #3. You never, ever drink while working especially when your interview is being taped. Dumb move. He deserved to be fired.
