"INXS has used a female lead singer before!"
Hey, I saw it on this very website--on the Rock Star INXS page. It's in the article by Wade Paulsen (6/25/04) about claims of idea theft & a Fox rip-off of this show.

"...INXS had already found a lead singer: Suze De Marchi, the former leader of the Oz band Baby Animals. Ms. De Marchi, a noted lyricist and charismatic live presence...had done some appearances with INXS dating back to 2000."

The article also says Terrence Trent D'Arby was lead singer for the band for one concert in 1999, and Jon Stevens was lead singer for 3.5 years "on a contract basis...never became a full-fledged band member...didn't formally leave until October 2003."

As some have said in other threads, a male winner invites comparison to Hutchence, and a female could take the band down a new path. Some of their songs just need to be sung by a guy, though!

Maybe two lead singers, a male and female, who trade off! Remember Jefferson Airplane/Starship had both Grace and Marty on lead duty.

I think I'm on to something here! I vote for Ty and Jordis as co-leads!
