PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"Statue Identity Revealed" |
The May issue of Wired (edited by J.J. Abrams) contained a puzzle that, when solved, revealed the identity of the statue. Link to the solving herehttp://mestizorocks.blogspot.com/2009/05/spoiler-alert-lost-puzzle-solution-from.html The answer to the puzzle was T H E F O U R T O E D S T A T U E I S T A W E R E T Info on Taweret can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taweret which includes this interesting passage: Consequently, Taweret became seen, very early in Egyptian history, as a deity of protection in pregnancy and childbirth. Pregnant women wore amulets with her name or likeness to protect their pregnancies. Her image could also be found on knives made from hippopotamus ivory, which would be used as wands in rituals to drive evil spirits away from mothers and children. A fertility goddess on an island that has somehow become hostile to childbirth. Hmmm...

2. "RE: Statue Identity Revealed" |
From Wikipedia: As the counterpart of Apep, who was always below the horizon, Taweret was seen as being the northern sky, the constellation roughly covering the area of present-day Draco, which always lies above the horizon. Thus Taweret was known as mistress of the horizon, and was depicted as such on the ceiling of the tomb of Seti I in the Valley of the Kings. This brings to mind two things: 1. What lies in the shadow of the statue (i.e. below the horizon?)...Evil? 2. Eko's stick that said to "look north" and pointed up. Don't know what to make of it, but interesting themes. -A Tribetastic Creation
