>They never gave him a name >right? If they go >biblical it could be they >were brothers? That is >what I am leaning towards >but who knows? If one is jacob, the other could be Esau... But before they were even born, Rebekah could feel them kicking and fighting inside her.
“Why is this happening?” she called out. And God answered her, “The two children inside you will become the fathers of two nations. Just like the two are fighting with each other now, the two nations will struggle with each other. One will be stronger than the other. and the older will serve the younger.”
In the story, Jacob tricks Esau out of his birthright, causing the older to serve the younger. So if Esau had to serve Jacob, he would have needed a loophole to have him killed, and regain his birthright.

Locke in a box now for 2 seasons and he worked in a box factory!Jacob gave Hurley a guitar case, Sawyer a pen, Kate a lunch box, Jack a candy bar. Sayid, Jin and Sun he gave nothing right? Did he even touch them? He touched Ilana also. He did not even visit Juliet! Now we have to figure out if Jacob or other guy is good or bad! Liked the Lost screen changing from black to white. So all along Jacob has used Ben. Ben was the pawn! I was rooting for Ben maybe for the first time to NOT kill Jacob. He chose to do it though. Was Jacob's cabin Rose and Bernard's place? I'm glad they showed them. It never bothered me that they were not there but it seems everyone on the internet always has to ask where they were. I just don't think they are that essential to the story anymore. Hopefully that puts that to rest. Juliet's fall was hands down was the most heartbreaking "death" scene yet on Lost. Absolutely crushing and memorable. So are the two men are the ones who "bring" all these vessels and people to the island to just play out events for their amusement? Is it a loop? They did say that is always plays out until the end. What did Jacob mean that "they are coming"? I think Chang is my new favorite character. Did not have a huge role in the finale but I hope we see more of him. Sayid was wearing Horace's jumpsuit. Could be relevant for future corpse spotting! Loved Sun picking up Charlie's ring. That has always bothered me! I bet if I went back to the finale 2 seasons ago I commented on that his ring was left behind! I am thrilled that Jacob was not anyone we know.

What was weird too was the times that Jacob visited them right? Kate and Sawyer it was as children. Jack, Sun and Jin it was as adults, prior to 815. Hurley and Sayid it was prior to 316. Ilana we don't know at what point it was since we have not had her story yet.

So, who's eye ball is that at the end?Sayid's wife's death was shocking and heart breaking. Jacob is reading "Everything that Rises Must Converge" by Flannery O'Connor, and then we see old Locke falling from a building. Jacob squeezes his shoulder. I thought it was kinda funny Jin commented that Jacob spoke perfect Korean. Jacob DID touch Jack's hand when he handed him the candy bar. Jack got his butt handed to him by Sawyer. I re-watched the episode and noticed Juliet was neither visited nor touched by Jacob. So old Locke is really dead and the new Locke is that other guy with Jacob during the scene with the pirate ship.

LAST EDITED ON 05-14-09 AT 09:27 AM (EST)LAST EDITED ON 05-14-09 AT 09:20 AM (EST) Ah so very interesting! The two guys at the beginning- dressed in white and black. Remember Locke on the beach in season 1 with Walt- everything is about light and dark. I take it that Jacob and dark guy are two angels competing for the souls of men- kind of like a contest. Twins like Jacob and Esau? Dark guy wants to kill Jacob- but needs to find a loophole to do so. Apparently causing Locke's death (by conviently talking him into it with Richard) provided him a way. But he still had to use Ben to kill Jacob- he could not do it himself. Dead is dead- was it Ben that said that? He was right- Locke was dead! Did not ghostly Horace build the cabin in the woods for the "Mrs"? Someone else is using the cabin- did that mean Christian? Remember the "Adam & Eve" skeletons- was that Rose and Bernard? Vincent is back (yay!) So all the people Jacob visited where on the "list"? So that's how Chang lost his arm- they are tying up a lot of things. Juliet's fall was heartbreaking! I think the Eye was Jack's. Good catch on Sayid wearing the Horace jumpsuit. I gotta watch that again! Handcrafted by RollDdice 2005

If this is all going to come down to a chess match between Jacob and "Man #2" (as he is credited on IMDB) I might not be happy. Initially it appeared that Jacob was the 'good one'. He seemed to think there was goodness in man to get things right whereas Man2 seemed to imply that men continued to repeat their mistakes.Later however I felt that Jacob was 'willing' the bad things to happen. He tells Kate to stop stealing, she steals a baby. He gives Sawyer a pen and sets him on his path. He tells Sun and Jin to never take each other for granted...we know they would not have been on 815 if that happened. Jack...? The one that confused me the most was Hurley. Why visit him so late in life? I also assume that it is no coincidence that one is blond and one is not. BTW: Jacob on IMDB Man2 on IMDB bouncey by Ice

“Ille Qui Nos Omnis Servabit”Latin: He who will serve/protect/save us all" Also of note: That statue is definitely Sobek. (mind his headgear in this picture; that's actually Amun's crown) From the Wikipedia entry: Sobek's ambiguous nature led some Egyptians to believe that he was a repairer of evil that had been done, rather than a force for good in itself, for example, going to Duat to restore damage done to the dead as a result of their form of death. He was also said to call on suitable gods and goddesses required for protecting people in situation, effectively having a more distant role, nudging things along, rather than taking an active part. Iiiinteresting.

44. "Things I noticed" |
The “war” that Widmore said was coming is not between Ben and Widmore – it’s between Jacob and “the other guy”. And has been going on since the 1800’s. I’m inclined to believe that Widmore is with “Man#2” and Widmore has been manipulating Ben and Locke to help him. When Illana went to the cabin, Bram pointed out the ring of ash had been broken and someone else had been using the cabin. The ring of ash has kept something inside the cabin – but as we found out tonight – it wasn’t Jacob. That’s why Claire was acting the way she was while in the cabin. I don’t remember the ring of ash being broken so I’m not sure when that occurred. So it is difficult to know if the events that are happening in 2007 are the way they have always happened or if the folks in 1977 are altering the future by what they have been doing. Key moments – every scene with Jacob (loved that actor who played him)!!! •“Man#2” and Jacob in the beginning was very interesting when they saw the Black Rock coming in. He said he would find a loophole and kill Jacob. Jacob told “evil Locke” (I really do think he is evil now) I guess you found your loophole. So the spirit (?) of Man#2 is in Locke right now. Jacob seemed to give advice or was coaxing everyone he visited – he also touched each one of them which I think is significant: Kate (told her to be good and touched her nose) Sawyer (gave him a pen – he did finish that letter - and touched his hand) Sayid (touched his shoulder – watching Nadia die was heartbreaking) Jin and Sun (don’t take your love for granted, touched their shoulders) Locke (most likely brought him back to life after his fall by touching his shoulder – sorry this happened to you but it will be ok) Jack (touched his hand and gave him the candy bar – maybe it needed a push) Ilana (she agrees to help him again – I’d like to know what year that was!) Hurley (he’s blessed, tells him about the Ajira flight and gives him the guitar case!) – Also his visit was different than the others because Jacob revealed his connection to the island –Hurley is special and is most likely the “variable” that Daniel was talking about – Jacob told Hurley he has a choice Jacob did not visit Juliet, Miles or Desmond in this episode. I wonder if we have seen the last of Jacob? The hydrogen bomb did not go off when it was dropped so I don’t think the bomb was “the incident”. The incident was the super high powered magnet dragging everything down. Sawyer and Juliet’s scene was so powerful. I think I had my mouth covered the whole time. Did anyone else have a Season 2 flashback?!? Remember Desmond turning the failsafe key and we wondered if he was dead? Everyone that was in the hatch survived when it imploded so I’m not so sure that Juliet is gone. So did they change time or not??? The new LOST logo with the white background and “destiny found” was awesome – almost telling us they did alter time – like they have been brought out of the darkness and into the light. I loved this finale – best yet!

Poor Nadia This episode made me feel bad for Ben... I never really liked John Locke that much and I really hate fake John Locke. Disappointed there was no Claire cameo, I was sure it was coming when Sun stumbled upon Aaron's crib. Good job casting young Kate, Sawyer, and Juliet... Juliet was made of awesome in this episode. What a heartbreaking ending, though. I was glad Phil died but disappointed Radzinsky didn't kick the bucket. I had a dream last night that Ilana was actually a good guy and lo and behold, it seems I was right!

Dead Claire visiting Kate may have been the real dead Claire, not re-animated dead Claire. I've always liked the theory that the person being referenced in this scene and in the scene where Hurley tells Jack that Charlie said "not to raise him" was a reference to Locke, not Aaron.

Just finished watching the finale earlier. Awesome! The opening scene made me think of "The Fates"... the spinning of the thread. Then in the final Jacob scene he mentioned how long it took him to weave the tapestry, how long it took him to make the thread, but that was the point. It was interesting to see how he wove each thread, how they were connected... if each thread is a person, that would explain how the Losties are all connected. However, there are 3 Fates (and they're women). Jacob would be the spinner but there needs to be someone to measure the thread (although I guess Jacob has done this) and someone to cut the thread (although I guess he has done that too). Man #2 seems cynical towards Man and perhaps he could be the cutter of the thread. It's interesting to note that in weaving mythology, the weavers are women. However, in Egyptian mythology, it was the men who wove. I'm so glad that Sun found Charlie's ring! I thought for sure it was lost. I didn't think it was possible for it to be found again. Dr. Chang - So that's what happened to his arm. So this is happening again? Why can't Man#2/Evil Locke kill Jacob? Why does a 3rd party have to do it? Ben stabbing (multiple, viscious stabs) Jacob reminded me of when he stabbed Keamy. Juliet, at the end, finally changed her facial expression. Can't wait for the return!! A Gift from Agman
