"Who's playing who?" |
Sorry if someone already talked about this, but is Nick playing Amy or vice versa? Or are they really slightly interested in each other?

Katrina commented on this during last night's episode. She thinks that both Nick and Amy are playing each other. I suspect that she's more than a little jealous given that she's always making catty remarks about Amy. Certainly Amy knows that she is in a strong position in the game and she may be counting on Nick to support her in a critical boardroom encounter. Nick may feel the same about Amy? I suspect that there will be a serious turn in this relationship when a couple more peple bite the dust.

Hmm...it's an interesting question and a bit hard to tell from the dynamic. I do think that they really are slightly interested in each other, but that they both think that they are playing the other one. But as much as I would like to believe that Amy is playing Nick (for the pride of my gender!), I tend to think that Nick is the one playing her. In the end...I'm not sure if Katrina's statement that Nick will be the one to win out is foreshadowing or irony, but either way I think that Nick is the one pulling the strings for now.

I think that it is true that both of them are playing each other but moreso I think that Amy will cause Nick's downfall in the end...she seems stronger somehow...

9. "RE: Who's playing who? Amy's Downfall" |
I think that Nick may be the downfall of Amy.Amy gave me the clue on this week's Rickshaw episode, when she mentioned off-handedly that she doesn't consider this game to be an individual competition, she still sees herself as part of a team. Uh oh. She has never been to the boardroom yet. This will lead to her downfall. Amy's been having so much fun working with the teams and congratulating each other and enjoying the fruits of their winning labors that she is not yet aware of the ugly side of the game. When she finally does end up in the boardroom, she may speak positively about her teammates, etc., and be shocked when she finds out that her "friends" would like nothing better than to cut her throat. Nick is especially good at attacking others and acting indignant in order to save himself and wouldn't hesitate to attack her in the boardroom if he needed to. I'm afraid that she may be unprepared for this, and may be shocked too deeply to make and immediate recovery, as she tends to work for the team effort without taking notes on her teammates flaws. She will probably survive anyway, as her performance history is strong, but it may leave her bewildered and she will look at her team and perform more guardedly in the future, which will give her teammates ammunition against her. Things like this happen all the time in real life. They are "team players" when it looks to be so, and then there really are TRUE "team players".

ON that note, I think its about time all members go to the boardroom after every upcoming challenge. Two of them can sit in front of the Donald and fess up their case, and the remaining can sit in the peanut gallery taking notes on what to do when it is their time. I think Amy has a big disadvantage since she has never been able to defend herself yet.
