survivorscott 2191 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Roller Coaster Inaugurator" 07-08-08, 04:37 PM (EST) "political fairness??" Someone help me out here. I always thought that TV had to give equal time for both candidates. In the promo's for this season of Big brother one contestant is pro Obama, and suposedly that was the hook for her to be on the show (strong political beleifs). Um, I thought those standards used to only be applied to news programming, not entertainment shows. I also thought they relaxed those standards. The equal time, or more accurately, the equal opportunity provision of the Communications Act requires radio and television stations and cable systems which originate their own programming to treat legally qualified political candidates equally when it comes to selling or giving away air time.
