PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

"Subjectivity - The Apprentice's Downfall" |
Shows like The Apprentice are entertaining (at times), but ultimately leave viewers aggravated due to the fact that the results are completely subjective. The results are not based on votes or scores or audience vote (which is subjective too, but at least represents the viewing audience). Instead, the results are based on the opinion of one person (The Donald). Summarizing what everyone is saying this morning, Trump's opinions are inconsistent and ego-driven, resulting in viewers scratching their heads and banging their fists when the wrong person is fired. Why should Lenny have been on Trump's chopping block? He came up with a good idea which everyone liked, he was the one who stood up unsuccessfully against the text v. voiceover, and yet Trump felt he should've been fired. Carolyn & Bill & George invariably agree, but there is no logic there. Yet, Lenny would've been eliminated. It makes the whole show bogus. That is why The Apprentice can't compete with the other reality shows, and I think that's why its ratings are slipping. PS Even a show like Top Model, which despite being subjective, is up to a group panel, and the editing clues the viewers onto each weekly selection process.

Ultimately Donald is the only one who matters. The person he hires will run an aspect of his company. Donald will be the only one working with this person. I can deal with the subjectivity. What I have a problem with is that a lot of Donald's decisions are done for ratings.

Which probably means out of the final two Donald could give two cents who gets hired....or it is completely obvisious.

Its not always subjective bcoz there has to be an output in the competition especially in the challenges! Of course spin-doctors like Mark Burnett always make sure that the ppl that DT fancies will be there on the final two! If I were the boss of the company I wouldn't want the public to choose the who they want! Coz it can easily b manipulate & will probably not merit what need to b merited & all will just b based on popularity! You know what reality show is all about subjective? America's Next Top Model! I mean some of the girls out there are good & the pics look good. But when Tyra hates that person she is going to remove that person whether she's good or not!
