Hi, recently my office faced a theft attempt, by the grace of God we didn't lose anything. The incident happened during the lockdown days, so it can be counted as an isolated case as the area mostly seemed to be crowded. I'm running an iron rods trading business, so the stuff inside the godown is quite expensive, so planning to install a CCTV camera system.
As of now, I'm up to buy Tridents automation solutions' IP CCTV camera system as it is more convenient for me as compared to that of analog surveillance. I hope to put a bunch of IP cameras on my network so that I can view visuals through an app on my phone. I'm thinking more that I need/want to get an NVR in the mix that's responsible for the cameras. I can also confine the camera devices to a new network that way by hanging them off the back of the NVR's PoE ports. I don't want to attach a screen to the NVR as I can use an app for that. And I hope the visuals can be configurable via a browser. Kindly note that I have no prior experience with any of the surveillance systems, and all these stories are from my research.
I understand that there are free packages available for this recording purpose, but it seems to complicate the entire system.
As a whole, I need a PoE switch rather than powering the camera devices from the NVR's own PoE ports. I also read that IP cameras can work as a stand-alone system without an NVR, please tell me about that too!
Also, Should I think of attaching cameras directly or is an NVR the way to go?
I can spend optimally for having this service/system.
