PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

He might be a little old to have a "hard drive." I don't think viagra can help him either.

Sometimes things are staring you right in the face, and I still don't see them.

I'm completely behind Apple on this. There's a huge difference legally between requiring someone to turn over information they already have and requiring them to develop a way to hack into a system and acquire information that they do not have, although I doubt that the self-proclaimed constitutional scholar Barry Obama knows enough law to appreciate the difference.

LAST EDITED ON 03-01-16 AT 11:42 AM (EST)I have to admit to having somewhat marginal feelings here. I mean, I would like the government to be able to obtain and use the information on those people's phones, and in general anybody that plans and/or commits terrorist acts. But I see the legal point you make. And I agree. But also I think that when we are tempted to allow the abuse of personal constitutional rights because of paranoia, that unless there is a real and immediate and identifiable national threat (maybe being in the midst of a Civil War?), we should remember the lessons of the Joe McCarthy era when a similar paranoia caused the government to trample rights of privacy as well as freedoms of assembly and of personal expression to combat the threat of Communism. I think we all look back on that era with disgust and maybe guilt if we happened to have had parents or friends who approved of the abuses and who thought that ruining peoples lives for joining an association that was disapproved of was OK "in this case". Hopefully we learned a lesson there, though. Obviously Obama and Loretta didn't. So, after having thought it through, my marginal feelings have completely disappeared. It helps to talk it out .

What really helps is our short-term memory. After 30 seconds we forget everything we ever knew. All we know is that that worm on that hook looks pretty juicy.
