"I can't believe she double downed!"
she must've gotten a look at the fine print and realized that she actually NEEDS to make the extra million just to make the check even worth cashing.

She's gonna get a rude awakening and realize an undeniable truth...she's hot, but a million dollars can buy you a different hot chick every night.

Yikes! I don't even know where to start with these morons. First there's Paige, willing to give up the money for that rambling loser, then Rob, who dumps Paige, and his chance for the cash. (actually, that was pretty funny. The look on Paige's face was priceless.)

Finally, Erin shows some smarts and takes them money over that fool Rob, just to turn around and give it back so she can hand it over to someone else a few weeks later?!?

You must be right Shakes. It has to be in the fine print. She was probably getting something like a dollar a year for a million years. Whatever it was, she obviously feels the additional TV exposure is potentially worth more in the end.

Totally agree. Actually, I think this girl (Erin) out-DAWS every one of us... in spades.

A 40 year payout of the million would come to a whopping $25,000 per year, so even if Erin is smart enough to do the math, she knows she'd still have to work to maintain herself (and her apparent lifestyle).

But to turn around and give it up for the chance to double it either reeks of stupidity... or there is a behind-the-scenes secret we don't know about.

By the way, was Rob's face not priceless when Erin basically told him that the money was fine, he was not... and he told her basically "Well, you just cost me half a million dollars!" and walked out of there with nuthin', not even sweet young Paige.

Come on... Do you really believe that she gave up a million dollars to do the show again??? I think she is getting to keep it or at least most of it as payment for the next show. She is not a stupid woman. No one in their right mind would give up that much money to have a television show "help you" find true love. With that much money you could certainly finance the search yourself and have a hell of a blast doing it. Now... maybe Paige would but never Erin.

First off, love the phrasing Shakes..."doubled down"....ROFLMFAO!!!

What I find odd, is they expect us to believe that she took the money over Rob for "her family"...which in itself was crap(See Webby's Thread in this forum)....but then gives it up for another shot at "Love"......cough*bullshit*cough

This stinks of a setup so bad it's ridiculious...I mean if he picks Paige and she takes him, they have no sequel!!

5. "RE: I can't believe she double downed!"
I can see a scenario where she decides to take her chances... remember, whatever you think of Erin now, remember that she did not go into the show looking to win a million, we have to assume that she legitimately went onto the program looking for a relationship, so...

A) During the show she deeply fears coming off as a gold digger

B) After she wins she discovers that not only does she not look that good after it's revealed that Rob and her would have split the million had she selected him, but she also learns that the final twist is on her as she gets a measily $25k a year before taxes

C) As the next couple of weeks pass, she really begins to fear how she's going to come across on the show for taking the money and some of the falsehoods she told as to why she took the money... maybe mix in a little "family shame" and tarnishment to the Brodie name from her parents... all for a pathetic $25k a year before taxes... her parents probably make more than that in bank interest a year

D) A couple of weeks have passed and her regret and fears of her portrayal have really gotten strong, when all of the sudden NBC comes and offers her a chance to go back and do it again -- and a chance to, in her eyes, to show she's not a golddigger by giving up the $25k/year for a chance at true love (while the "uneducated audience" stills thinks she's giving up $1 mil.)

...hell, if her parents are as well off as I suspect, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they even told her that they'd give her the $25k a year themselves if that's what it'd take to get her to go back on the show and try and repair the family image.

I can see the logic in that Webby....John Brodie is a proud man from what I have read about him and he probably didn't think to highly of how she came off.....but from the previews it looks like she turns on the sex appeal and turns up the heat in this one....wonder what he will think of that?

I dunno about the "family image" thing. If they had that much of a problem with image, I seriously doubt she'd even go on that type of show in the first place.

I just think she is just a DAW, and figures that giving back the money is a small price to pay for the extended exposure and attention. Can she seriously think that ANYONE (save Paige) would give up 1 million for a chance to date someone they basically just met? She better hope there is another sucker in the guys they picked, cause it was obviously a no brainer decision for her.

8. "RE: I can't believe she double downed!"

I have a feeling that she knew about the annuity already. I could be wrong, but I suspect that all the girls were told (off camera) that the million was over time (they may not have mentioned the full 40 years, though).

As to the Brodie name points: As I said in another thread, why is a daughter of John Brodie even DOING this... unless she's just a totally shameless DAW?

I doubt she NEEDS the money (unless Daddy cut her off).

She's beautiful enough to snare a rich man without needing this fool TV process.

And maybe it's just my impression, but she was cold enough to look Rob (who looked intimidating as he waited for her answer) in the eye and tell him she'd rather have the money than him. This is not a girl who will fear what she looked like in public. Add to it that Rob looked (on TV) like the drunken lout that he really is, and she should realize she has NO worries about the "golddigger" image.

-----------------------------------------

Although I don't really believe this myself, here's yet another scenario for y'all to ponder:

Let's say that the producers approached Erin about FLOM 2 *before* Rob made his decision... thinking, like the rest of us, that Rob would pick Paige. And, for kicks and giggles, let's say she accepted the offer.

But Rob, just before air time (they had to know, to send Paige out first), tells the producers that he's picking Erin instead! What to do?!?!

Well, to make it look good, they tell Erin that they'll give her double or nothing! (Okay, maybe they tell her secretly that they'll pay her a big lump sum, maybe half a million, no matter what happens in FLOM 2).

They *know* that Rob won't win a million if Erin takes the money over him. And they *know* that Paige isn't going to be chosen. They had a second show lined up (and a second million dollars) all ready to go, anyway. They don't lose any more money!

So, it all works out. Erin still gets to be the girl on the second show. No extra cash is being paid out. Paige learns a life lesson. And Rob walks out that gate back into the mediocrity to which he so firmly belongs.
