You're so naive sometimes. I'm divided on what to do if the show decides to ignore the Fakethis issue. There's an urge to turn off the season and leave it there until she's gone -- or possibly just leave it off, period. Or I could watch just to see if the pressure makes her break down on stage. (More than she usually does.) But given that any addressing will probably center around running rivers of mascara and 'Please, please, forgive me America, the deity I no longer worship already did', I don't know if I want to see them handle it FOX-style either. Which may explain why I've been vaguely nauseous for much of the afternoon. Well, that or anticipation of Death Stage Displays again. It's this or the Ozzy Follies. Competent and better than I thought it would be given the song, but not sterling and, as with the Hoggz, nowhere near what the panel is rating it at. They are incredibly desperate to sell this talent selection right now -- so much that they're approaching and threatening to exceed Steven Tyler levels. It wasn't her voice or the annoying changes made to the lyrics. Her performance was passable. But the images flashing on the screens were giving me a headache. I'm serious. My eyes were actually starting to ache. And I kept waiting for the horror face to pop up from nowhere and lend a background scream to the vocals. Some shows you watch on Mute. I'd held onto a faint show that the show would either be canceled outright or sent back for major retooling. (For starters, the editing team has to go. All of it.) But half of that just went goodbye -- which, without some kind of scandal breaking, eliminates the second. Oh, and while they may be tracking the Twitter count, they will not tell you anything negative people are saying.
