LAST EDITED ON 10-23-02 AT 08:28 AM (EST)The first time I read about the rules, I wondered about MNF...
Anyway, the final episode would have aired on December 5, had it not been cancelled. Here's the sports schedule airing that weekend on ABC:
December 7
1 p.m. Virginia Tech at Miami
4:30 p.m. Washington State at UCLA
8 p.m. Big 12 Championship Game (Houston)
December 9
MNF: Chicago at Miami
They don't have any NBA games until Christmas, and no hockey until next year, according to the online schedule.
Now, here's what will be airing this weekend:
October 26
12 p.m. Notre Dame at Florida State
3:30 p.m. Penn State at Ohio State, Iowa State at Texas,
Virginia at Georgia Tech, USC at Oregon
October 27
1 p.m. Skate America
3 p.m. Buick Challenge - golf coverage
5 p.m. Preview of The Tour Championship
October 28
MNF: New York Giants vs. PHILADELPHIA
edited to correct MNF game - It is Green Bay's bye week. You wouldn't know I had 4 fantasy football teams by that blunder.
Thoughts:
- We can probably rule out the 3:30 college football games, since this is regional action and would be difficult to provide simultaneous coverage.
- Some people have speculated that the site is in either Florida or California. In that case, we may have gotten a clue from the game chosen. There are two games on the original date involving Miami, one in California. But we won't have that now.
- If the site is in Florida, and they want the game chosen to have relevance if possible, then it might be during the Notre Dame-Florida game.
- I'd still rank Monday Night Football the top option, to try and draw 3 or 4 viewers away from Everybody Loves Raymond, with the ND-FSU game a second place option only if they want there to be a Florida tie-in.
