Awful Waffle
Those waffles sure looked good, but I definitely think I would have passed on that mess of a Detour option. Of course, seeing Andy/Tommy just absolutely knock that thing out so quickly probably biases that opinion.
Bill/Cathi ended up getting eliminated, ending their run. I must say that I counted them out after the first week, whining about why they cast these teams doomed to fail... But Bill/Cathi definitely proved me wrong in my assessment of them. Kudos to them.
Week 10 Results
1st place - Andy/Tommy (2x)
2nd place - Jeremy/Sandy (1.6x)
3rd place - Ernie/Cindy (even)
4th place - Amani/Marcus (.4x)
5th place - Bill/Cathi (0x)
Yeesh.
Pretty ugly week for the Casino as a whole, mostly due to Amani/Marcus' usual erratic racing style. They've been a really infuriatingly (at least from a bettor's POV) inconsistent team. One week, they'll randomly finish 1st or 2nd and then the following week, they'll sink down to second-to-last place.
To make matters worse, no one said the episode quote, which must be like a first in TAR history. Therefore, as stated in the rules last week, all of those bonus bets scored 0x. Just bad timing all around.
I blame that TBC episode... It really messed up this Casino Game's mojo.
This week's Greatest Gainer Award goes to esquire, who climbed 14 ranks all the way up to #4. Very nicely done!
This week's Perfect Bet Award also goes to esquire (2.87x), who made a huge Andy/Tommy keeper bet. Other members of the Andy/Tommy Keeper Funclub for the week were KwietOne (2.8x), Max Headroom (2.4x), and ARNutz (2.3x). Nice going you guys.

The Andy/Tommy keepers definitely shuffled the ranks around a bit with the current Top 4 leaping up 10 ranks or so to the top of the leaderboard. ARNutz holds a small lead over the field, so it's looking like an extremely tight race for the top spot. Good luck everyone!
Week 11 Payout Table
1st place - 2x
2nd place - 1.8x
3rd place - .2x
4th place - 0x
Max Individual Bet - 110 points
The finale is next week, so no new Keeper Teams for next week. The final week is always a No-Limit week, so allowing a triple-up creates a little too much of a "Golden Snitch" game theory problem.
Due to Amani/Marcus' slide, the median score sunk significantly (therefore lowering the max bet). To counteract this a little, we have a pretty risky Payout Table, with a big 2nd-to-3rd place drop. Pick your teams carefully!
Clock Game Redux
Well, let's try this again.
(copied/modified from the previous thread)
This week, players may wager some points of the amount of time that the 1st place team beat the team that finished 5th in the previous leg. Or, in other words, how much did Andy/Tommy beat Amani/Marcus by in the previous leg?
We are going to measure it based on the departure times for the next episode. So you could think of the question of actually being, "How much of a lead will Andy/Tommy have over Amani/Marcus?" If, for example, Andy/Tommy leave the next pitstop at 5:00 AM and Amani/Marcus leaves at 8:36 AM, then the correct answer would be "3 hours, 36 minutes."
Ah, but how close does your wager have to be for it to be a winner? That's really up to you.
For this game, you must choose how much risk you're comfortable with. Every wager must be accompanied by which Payout Table you're playing off of. The smaller margin of error, the higher the payout will be if you're right. Use the following codewords to label your wager.
"Wimpy" (45 mins)
Off by 45 mins or less - 2x
More than 45 mins - 0x
"Cheeky" (30 mins)
Off by 30 mins or less - 4x
More than 30 mins - 0x
"Gutsy" (15 mins)
Off by 15 mins or less - 6x
More than 15 mins - 0x
"Fearless" (5 mins)
Off by 5 mins or less - 10x
More than 5 mins - 0x
Max Bet (all tables) - 25 points
Number of Guesses You Can Make - 1
A sample wager might look like...
Bonus Game "Gutsy"
25 points - 2 hours, 31 mins
So, in this example, if your guess was off by 15 minutes or less (2:16 to 2:46), then you'd be a winner. It doesn't matter how close you were overall, just that you're within the range that you selected. That's why it's so important you label with payout table you're going for.
If they don't reveal the times at the beginning of the episode where we have no answer, then all bonus bets will be refunded.
TAR19 Teams Remaining
Amani/Marcus
Andy/Tommy
Ernie/Cindy
Jeremy/Sandy
Good luck!

Yeesh, that Amani/Marcus finish (and Andy/Tommy win) hurt my score in more ways than one...
